Digraphs /ch/ and /sh/
OBJECTIVES
1. Pronounce words with consonant digraphs
/ch/ and /sh/ ; (EN3PWR-Iii-j-22.1).

2. Read words, phrases, sentences, and short


stories with digraphs ch and sh (EN3PWR-Iii-j-
22.1).

Story - sequence of events that can be read or retell. It has different elements
like setting, characters, climax and ending.
Example:
Cherry and Shanty
Cherry and Shanty are friends. They collect shells on the beach every
summer. They take off their shoes and enjoy walking on the sands.
Sometimes, they like to chase each other. Cherry chases Shanty, and Shanty
chases Cherry.
When they are hungry, Cherry and Shanty eat cheese rolls and drink cold
mango shake. They are very happy during summer.
WHAT IS IT

Digraph is a combination of
two letters that make one
sound.

China. Another example is the
combination of letter s and h in
the word shine.
WHAT IS IT

The /ch/ or /sh/ sounds can be in


the beginning, middle or end of
the words.
