Ever get yourself into something where you might be in just a liiiittle bit over your head? I feel ya. (I had a WTH-was-I-thinking?! moment halfway up Machu Picchu.) If you know what I'm talking about, you need to watch the trailer for Reese Witherspoon's new flick, Wild, based off Cheryl Strayed's best-selling memoir of the same name. You should also probably read the book, like, yesterday. It's SO good.
The story is based off Strayed's 1,1000-mile solo hike along the Pacific Crest Trail, which she started after her mother died and her marriage fell apart. As much as I love Reese, two hours of watching her hike the PCT might be a little bit boring (beautiful, but boring). Luckily, the film flashes back to her life pre-hike, so we get more insight into what exactly compelled her to take on this epic journey. This is Witherspoon's Castaway moment, and I don't think there's anyone better to shoulder the burden of carrying an entire movie on her own shoulders. It looks like she's managing that 50-pound pack on the trail just fine. Check out the trailer below—then let us know what you think!
