GATE Syllabus 2025

GATE 2025 will be conducted for 29 papers. But a candidate can only appear for one or two papers. Aspirants preparing for their GATE exam papers need to refer to their GATE Syllabus 2025. Subject Wise GATE Syllabus 2025

In 2025, the GATE Exam will be conducted in February for a total of 4 days: Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th , Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th (Tentatively). The exam will be conducted for a total of 29 subjects which are also referred to as Papers. GATE Syllabus 2025 for Civil Engineering

Those who have graduated from Civil Engineering and planning to do the exam preparation for GATE CE to get admission in Masters programmes should prepare according to the GATE Syllabus of Civil Engineering.

Note that Civil Engineering discipline is designed in a way that learners can be able to deal with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment. Therefore, the Civil Engineering syllabus has been divided into 7 sections: Engineering Mathematics, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Geomatics Engineering.

GATE Syllabus 2025 for Computer Science Engineering

GATE Exam Pattern 2025

Knowing the GATE Exam pattern 2025 helps students to be ready for the upcoming GATE exam 2025. Note that the GATE test papers 2025 are completely objective where MCQs, MSQs, NAT types of questions are asked.

The Question Paper of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering contains General Aptitude (GA) section for 15 Marks which is for all the papers of GATE 2025.

The GATE Question Papers have two parts of GATE Syllabus. Part A has 60 marks and it is compulsory for all the candidates.

Part B has 25 marks which contains two optional sections 

The Paper consists of two parts covering the syllabus: Part A (60 marks) and Part B (25 marks): Architecture and Planning.

Yes, there is a penalty for a wrong answer chosen in a Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).

 
  • ⅓ mark will be deducted for 1 mark MCQ question, if the question is chosen wrong.
 
  • Likewise, For 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted, if one chose a wrong answer. 
 
  • No negative marking for Incorrect answer(s) to MSQ or NAT question.
