Kannada film titled Gumti, which has managed to grab attention for its unique title has released its trailer giving the Kannada audience a glimpse of the culture and traditions of Kudubi Tribe from Karnataka’s coastal region.

While Gumti’s team has almost wrapped the post-production works, the film is soon to hit the screens in the coming months.
The title of the film Gumti, refers to a traditional instrument of the Kudubi community. Even as the trailer was released, the film's unit had gathered to share a few insights into the world of Gumti.
Speaking to mediapersons, producer Vikas S Shetty said, “We have attempted to showcase a unique folk art that we have known about since our childhood days. The film has turned out well, showcasing the real picture of the Kudubi community and their rich culture and traditions. The audience will certainly love the story, and I am sure it will touch their hearts.”
The trailer of Gumti throws light on the ancient folk instrument and emphasises that it is not just an instrument but an eternal emotion.
Actor and director
Sandesh Shetty Ajri, known for his previous ventures like Kattale Kone and Inamdaar has helmed Gumti along with featuring in a lead role.
“Along with showcasing the rich culture and traditions of the Kudubi community, the film mainly focuses on the clash between tradition and modernity,” the director shares.
Gumti features Vaishnavi Nadig as Malli, a Kudubi girl, along with Ranjan Chhatrapati, Karan Kunder, Yash Acharya, Prabhakara Kunder, Raghu Pandeshwar, Chetana Nailadi, Chitrakala, Noor Ahmed, and Swaraj Lakshmi in significant roles.
