Mancuso running for Monroe County district attorney
Mike Mancuso has announced his candidacy for District Attorney of Monroe County.
Mancuso, a Democrat, is the current First Assistant District Attorney. Mancuso, who has been an assistant district attorney for years, has an excellent trial record, successfully prosecuting more murderers than any prosecutor in the history of Monroe County.
Mancuso prosecutes criminals who target the elderly, children, and domestic abusers. He convicts police for wrongdoing.
Mancuso is happily married and a loving father of four children. A graduate of Pocono Mountain High School, he earned his law degree from Dickinson School of Law.
Mancuso, a teacher and mentor to attorneys on both the defense and prosecution sides, is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mancuso is proud of the many endorsements from people and organizations familiar with his work ethic, sense of fairness, and qualifications. His endorsements include the Teamsters Local 773, the Young Democrats of Monroe County, the Pennsylvania Homicide Investigators Association, former District Attorney Jim Marsh, and Al “Sonny” Murray, former Assistant U.S. Attorney.
Mancuso created important crime prevention initiatives, including: the Elder Abuse Task Force, which protects vulnerable seniors from harm; the Domestic Violence Protocol to protect victims, and the Law Enforcement Treatment Initiative to divert drug cases into treatment.
He is the co-author of “Etna: A Murder Out of Time” which details a Monroe County cold case murder from 1880.
Mancuso said he believes in “Justice Above Politics” and has vowed to be a district attorney for all the people. “Dear friends and neighbors, my work as First Assistant District Attorney has given me a unique perspective into what needs our urgent attention, most notably the mental health crisis, the drug addiction crisis, and the cycle of domestic violence and abuse. Sadly, Justice has not always been provided to those in need. I have the vision and know how to secure justice for those most often left out. Join me in this movement. Together we can make Monroe County a better place,” he said.
