A wigwam in Shropshire. Now that sounds like a holiday
Not really a lodge. Not really a tent. Certainly not a caravan. I'm not really sure you would categorise the wigwams
at Black Hall Lodges. However you decide to class these wigwams, they are certainly the place to come for a nice break on the border
of Wales and Shropshire.

Before I go on, I'd like to say we didn't actually stay in a wigwam - we went for the
Michigan Lodge. In fact, before
we arrived at Black Hall Lodges, we weren't aware of these latest six accommodations to their small, but perfectly formed,
collection of lodges.
The wigwams at Black Hall Lodges make a nice - and relatively cheap - way of enjoying the area. Each wigwam can sleep 5 people,
and is designed to be a place to rest your weary head. A central lodge is provided with washing & toilet facilities and
cooking & dining facilities. There is also an indoor heated swimming pool / sauna / steam-room & children's play room -
this is only open to people staying at the twelve lodges and six wigwams, so is never too crowded. Use of this leisure suite
for those staying in a wigwam carries a small additional charge, so if you don't fancy a swim, sauna or swim, you'll save even more money.
The wigwams have a (very) rural setting at Black Hall Lodges
The chances are you'll want to stay in a wigwam at Black Hall Lodges if you're fond of the great outdoors. And this is what
Black Hall Lodges does in spades. Set on an organic farm producing beef and lamb, the wigwams are flanked by fields and woodland. You
may well fancy the idea of using your wigwam as a base to explore Leominster or Ludlow. Or to explore the area on bike - the
nearest village is Knighton, which is a 4½ cycle ride away. Or you may decide to enjoy one of the walks available
directly for your front door. We tend to walk the mile up to Offa's Dyke for the fantastic views on offer.
For those less energetic out there, Andrew Beavan, the man behind the farm, runs tractor rides to the top of Offa's Dyke.
