The Motif house and the accompanying property were given to the organization’s founders by an anonymous donor. The house is on Cordele Road and is over 100 years old. The property has not been occupied for several years. On Saturday afternoon, volunteers from around the community began renovations on the facility.
Rivera Holmes is now officially the Labor Commissioner of Georgia. She was appointed by Gov. Kemp to fill this role on March 18, following the death of the previous Labor Commissioner, Bruce Thompson.

The event – Send Off Our Seniors – will give graduates an opportunity to personalize graduation caps. The teens can also enjoy complimentary pizza while they design, according to the museum. Any high schoolers are welcome to attend.
The event is at the Albany Civic Center free of charge Friday and Saturday. On Friday the competition will last from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. On Saturday the event will last from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
