The 5th Annual Philanthropy Week is hosted by the Murray State University Nonprofit Leadership Studies program, the Nonprofit Resource Center, the Department of Organizational Communication and Leadership, and the Arthur J. Bauernfeind College of Business.
Philanthropy week events take place in various locations around Murray.

Thursday, April 17th: Philanthropy Week Keynote Conversation Dr. Elise Kieffer, Nonprofit Leadership Studies Program Director, will speak with Mrs. Donna Herndon. Donna has been a cornerstone in the Murray/Calloway nonprofit sector. Join us for this conversation looking back at those endeavors and accomplishments. 6 pm @ MSU Wrather Auditorium

Dark Reads Book Discussion Group will meet 5:30-6:30 p.m. April 17 at the Alhambra Theater, 507 S. Main St. This month’s selection is “The Whisper Man,” by Alex North.

The popular Singer-Songwriter Night featuring Phillip Coleman and friends returns to Discovery Park on Thursday, April 17, 2025. Coleman’s special guests will be Tony Arata and Don Henry. The performances will take place in Discovery Park’s ATA Traveling Exhibit Hall with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m., followed by the show at 7 p.m.

Dakota Moore will be speaking about small scale cover cropping for home gardeners on Thursday, April 17, at 6:30 pm at the Calloway County Extension Office meeting hall. He will discuss the benefits cover crops can have on soil health and easy ways to get started. It is free and open to the public. For more information call 270-753-1452.
