마르자니&문셀(1955~1967)은 하비 마투소우의 '허위증인'을 시작으로 진보와 좌익의 책을 펴낸 맨해튼에 본사를 둔 20세기 중반의 미국 도서출판사였다.[1]

역사

1951년 출소 후 칼 마르자니는 카메론 어소시에이츠에 입사하여 앵거스 캐머런과 제휴하여 리버티 북 클럽을 운영하였다.마르자니&문셀은 북클럽(알렉산더 엑터 오르르 문셀과의 불분명한 관계에서 칼 마르자니,[2] 그리고 알버트 헨리 문셀의 아들이자 후계자)으로 결성되었고, 도서관-프로메테우스 북클럽이 된 것도 운영하였다.8000여 명의 회원이 있는 두 북클럽은 함께 진보적 이념에 따라 많은 책을 출판하고 배포했다.[3]

간첩 혐의

1994년 퇴직한 KGB 장교 올레그 칼루긴의 주장에 따르면 마르자니는 마르자니&문셀을 운영하면서 소련 비밀경찰인 KGB의 연락책이었고, KGB는 1960년대 그의 출판사에 보조금을 지급했다.[5]알려진 바에 따르면, 그 금액은 1960년에 1만 5천 달러였고, 그 후 1961년에 2년 동안 5만 5천 달러의 보조금을 지급했다.[3]
