페리플라킨 은 인간에게 PPL 유전자 에 의해 암호화된 단백질 이다.[5] [6] [7]
이 유전자에 의해 인코딩된 단백질은 데스모솜과 각질세포에 있는 표피 옥수수 봉투의 성분이다. 이 단백질의 N단자 영역은 혈장막과 상호작용을 하고 그 C단자 영역은 중간 필라멘트와 상호작용을 한다. 이 단백질은 막대영역을 통해 엔보플라킨과 콤플렉스를 형성한다. 이 단백질은 중간 필라멘트뿐만 아니라 옥수수 봉투와 데스모솜 사이의 연결고리 역할을 할 수 있다. 다양한 세포 성장과 생존 신호 과정을 매개하는 단백질 키나아제인 AKT1/PKB가 이 단백질과 상호작용하는 것으로 보고되어 AKT1 매개 신호에서 이 단백질의 국산화 신호로서 가능한 역할을 제안하고 있다.[7]
상호작용 PPL(gene)은 케라틴 8 [8] 및 Envoplakin 과 상호작용 하는 것으로 나타났다.[9] [10]
