Liam takes on the role of a fighter pilot in upcoming sci-fi thriller.

And he looked every inch the movie star as he stepped out to promote the film.

The statuesque Australian star appeared relaxed as he posed for photos outside the Park Hyatt Hotel.

He completed his look with a rolled up grey shirt, dark trousers and casual sneakers.

Accompanying the star in Sydney were co-star Jeff Goldblum and director Roland Emmerich.

In a recent interview with Men's Fitness, Liam shared about working with the film's director: 'I had the opportunity to work with Roland Emmerich. I’ve been a fan of his since the first one. He kind of pioneered this world-ending genre.'

'I also got to work with Jeff [Goldblum], and it was a lot of fun. It’s that sort of moment, your first step on set, and you’re looking at spaceships and things like that,' he shared.

While his acting career is going from strength to strength, things are also on the up in his personal life.

In an interview with GQ Australia, the younger brother of Chris shared that all is as it seemed when photos emerged of Miley Cyrus wearing her engagement ring again in January, all but confirming that the two were back on.

'People will figure it out, they already have... They're not dumb,' he said.

'I guess when I feel something, then I just feel it and I go for it. I make my decisions about what's going to make me happy, what I think is right, and what I want to do and I don't worry too much outside of that.'

It hasn't been a smooth ride for the couple who first met in 2009 on the set of teen drama, The Last Song.

While their breakup was difficult, Liam does not regret parting ways.

'Of course it was hard, man. But at the time we were going in different directions and it's just what needed to happen. We were both super young and it was a good decision at the time – we both needed that,' he also told GQ.
