Simple art-style, slow pacing. Made when next episode was a week away on TV. It made sense then for recap episodes to tie together seasons months apart in time to viewers.
But with instant streaming services, shows released seasons at once. TVs and time tables are dead. Shows like this no longer appreciated. No streaming service will touch it. Can't watch it legally anywhere anymore. Stockholders want short term profit. Gobble up whatever garbage they throw at us, as long as it's quick and easy. Right?
Make no mistake. In it's humble art-style and mellow pacing. Lies a true epic in every sense of the word. A story with timeless themes, deep emotions and sense. Fantastic creatures that are still believable in their own world. Engaging characters that are human, with faults and beauty.
