This one was mostly good. For a path-based anime based on an almost 12-year old PS2 galge VN, it's mostly competent in 2021. The male lead is, well, a drone of a character, but that's just what I expected, so it doesn't bother me that much. I also liked that it's also mostly devoid of malice, and as heartwarming as can be.
Regarding the arcs themselves, I liked most of them, but I think that Ayatsuji Tsukasa's arc, both here and in Amagami SS Plus, was the only one that felt real. The others were not bad, but they featured mostly stereotypical tropes and were kinda predictable from start to finish, especially Morishima Haruka's one. Maybe it's only that I liked Tsukasa's personality conflict, but still, I believe that it was the most relatable. And as such, it was the one I liked the most.
Overall, a nice watch. If you haven't watched this one yet, give it a try! Even if path-based animes are not your forte, if you're a romance junkie, this one will please you.
I just finished watching both series and I noticed this character pattern:
High-class lady = Morishima Haruka / Shijou Mitsuki
Childhood friend = Tanamachi Kaoru / Mizusawa Mao
Shy character = Nakata Sae / Hoshino Yuumi
Athlete = Nanasaki Ai / Sakino Asuka
Food character = Sakurai Rihoko / Satonaka Narumi
Odd personality = Ayatsuji Tsukasa / Futami Eriko
Also, supporting characters Hiba Manaka and Yuzuki Ruriko (Amagami name) / Yuzuki Kaoruko (KimiKiss name) appear in both series. Not only do they have the same character designs and voice actresses, but they also support the "food character" (Sakurai Rihoko / Satonaka Narumi) in their respective series.
