Stein's campaign website highlighted the following issues:
“ |
Healthcare Transparency: Ohio currently ranks near the bottom in legislation to provide healthcare transparency. Many people are surprised to learn that in healthcare, there is no correlation between cost and quality. Prices for medical services can vary greatly even for the same procedure, in the same area, within the same network. Quality and outcomes can vary just as greatly, with no relationship to price. The only way to know whether you’re getting good care at a reasonable price is to see the pricing and outcome data. Education: We need local control of the curriculum in our schools instead of federal and state bureaucrats deciding how we should educate our children. By cutting Ohio’s implementation of Common Core we give control back to our school boards and the families of our communities. Jobs: Ohio has frozen it’s renewable energy mandates temporally by the signing of SB310. If job growth is to continue we must permanently repeal the 2008 mandate. It is time we let businesses and consumers use their own judgement as to how best to save money by improving energy efficiency within their homes and businesses.[5] |

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
