And if I have [the gift of] prophecy and I know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that [I can] remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. And if I parcel out all my possessions, and if I hand over my body in order that I will be burned, but do not have love, it benefits [me] nothing.read more.
Love is patient, love is kind, love is not jealous, [it] does not boast, [it] does not become conceited, [it] does not behave dishonorably, [it] {is not selfish}, [it] does not become angry, [it] does not keep a record of wrongs, [it] does not rejoice at unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all [things], believes all [things], hopes all [things], endures all [things]. Love never ends. But if [there are] prophecies, they will pass away. If [there are] tongues, they will cease. If [there is] knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but whenever the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I set aside the things of a child. For now we see through a mirror {indirectly}, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know completely, just as I have also been completely known. And now these three [things] remain: faith, hope, [and] love. But the greatest of these [is] love.
and live in love, just as also Christ loved us, and gave himself for us an offering and sacrifice to God for a fragrant smell.
But concerning brotherly love, I do not have need to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another,
For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning: that we should love one another,
Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been fathered by God and knows God.

Now in Joppa there was a certain female disciple {named} Tabitha (which translated means "Dorcas"). She was full of good deeds and charitable giving which she was constantly doing.
Look! This was the iniquity of Sodom, your sister: Pride, abundance of food, and {prosperous ease} was to her and to her daughters, and {she did not sustain the needy and the poor}.
Then they will also answer, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and not serve you?'
I have shown you [with respect to] all [things] that [by] working hard in this way it is necessary to help those who are in need, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus that he himself said, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

Now as they traveled along, he entered into a certain village. And a certain woman {named} Martha welcomed him.
Do not neglect hospitality, because through this some have received angels as guests without knowing [it].
that with a great ordeal of affliction, the abundance of their joy and the extreme depth of their poverty have overflowed to the wealth of their generosity.
[The] wicked borrows and does not repay, but [the] righteous [is] gracious and gives.
Heal those who are sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, expel demons. Freely you have received; freely give.
devout and fearing God together with all his household, doing many charitable deeds for the people and praying to God {continually}.
Now [the point is] this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one [should give] as he has decided in his heart, not {reluctantly} or from compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
He who oppresses the poor insults him who made him, but he who has mercy on the poor honors him.

Therefore, as [the] chosen of God, holy and [dearly] loved, put on affection, compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience,
And the slave of the Lord must not quarrel, but be kind toward everyone, skillful in teaching, tolerant,
in order that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands [and to] love their children, [to be] self-controlled, pure, busy at home, good, being subject to their own husbands, in order that the word of God may not be slandered.
In the same way, younger men, be subject to the elders, and all [of you] clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.
With those who scorn, he is scornful, but to those who are humble, he gives favor.
It will not be like this among you! But whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be most prominent among you must be your slave-- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life [as] a ransom for many."

Who [is] wise and understanding among you? Let him show by his good behavior his works, with the humility of wisdom.
And we urge you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, console the discouraged, help the sick, be patient toward all [people].
He who is slow to anger [is] better than him who is mighty, and he who controls his spirit than him who captures a city.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
with all humility and gentleness, with patience, putting up with one another in love,
enabled with all power, according to his glorious might, for all steadfastness and patience with joy,
preach the word, be ready in season [and] out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all patience and instruction.
Therefore be patient, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the soil, being patient concerning it until it receives the early and late rains. You also be patient. Strengthen your hearts, because the coming of the Lord is near. Brothers, do not complain against one another, in order that you may not be judged. Brothers, take [as an] example of perseverance and endurance the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we consider blessed those who have endured. You have heard about the patient endurance of Job, and you saw the outcome from the Lord, that the Lord is compassionate and merciful.
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities, for [there] is no authority except by God, and those that exist are put in place by God.
Subject yourselves to every human authority for the sake of the Lord, whether to a king as having supreme authority,
--wives to their own husbands as to the Lord, because [the] husband is [the] head of the wife, as also Christ [is the] head of the church (he himself [being the] Savior of the body). But as the church is subject to Christ, thus also wives [should be subject] to their husbands in everything.
