If I speak with tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.

But now do ye also put away all these; anger, wrath, malice, reviling, shameful talk out of your mouth.

He that speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies the assembly.
and, when this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were greatly surprised, because each one heard them speaking in his own language.

So also ye, since ye are eager for spiritual gifts, seek that ye may abound in them with a view to the edification of the assembly.
