nor shall men break [bread] for them in mourning, to comfort them for the dead, nor shall men give them the cup of consolation to drink for their father or for their mother.

Weep ye not for him who is dead, nor bemoan him. But weep greatly for him who goes away, for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

For in death there is no remembrance of thee. In Sheol who shall give thee thanks?

or has found that which was lost, and deal falsely by it, and swears to a lie, in any of all these things that a man does, sinning by it,

If any man may see his brother sinning a sin not toward death, he will ask, and he will give life to him, to those not sinning toward death. There is sin toward death. I do not say that he should make request about that.

And this is the will of the Father who sent me, that of all that he has given me I would not lose from it, but I will raise it up at the last day.

For thus says LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, nor go to lament, nor bemoan them, for I have taken away my peace from this people, says LORD, even loving kindness and tender mercies.

It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting. For that is the end of all men, and the living will lay it to his heart.

See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me. I kill, and I make alive. I wound, and I heal. And there is none that can deliver out of my hand.

Now it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of LORD, that LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

according to my eager expectation and hope that I will be shamed in nothing. But with all boldness, now as always, Christ will also be magnified in my body, whether through life or through death.

For Sheol cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee. Those who go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

But now he is dead; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.

Who rescued us out of so great a death, and does rescue, in whom we have hoped that he will also still rescue.

Let death come suddenly upon them. Let them go down alive into Sheol. For wickedness is in their dwelling, in the midst of them.

Then I said, I will not feed you. That which dies, let it die, and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off, and let those who are left eat each one the flesh of another.

And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife, and he loved her. And Isaac was comforted after his mother's death.

For I have no pleasure in the death of him who dies, says lord LORD, therefore turn yourselves back, and live.
