Jesus said to them: Did you never read in the Scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner?

And he began to speak this parable to the people: A man planted a vineyard, and let it out to vine-dressers, and was absent from home for a long time. And at the proper sea son, he sent a servant to those vine-dressers, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard. But the vine-dressers scourged him, and sent him away empty-handed. And ho then sent another servant. But they scourged him also, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed. read more.
And he also sent a third; but they wounded him, and drove him out. And the owner of the vineyard said: What shall I do? I will send my beloved son; perhaps, when they see him, they will reverence him. But when the vine-dressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying: This is the heir; come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours. And they drove him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What, then, will the owner of the vineyard do to them? He will come and destroy these vine-dressers, and will give his vine yard to others. And when they heard it, they said: Be it not so! And he looked on them and said: What, then, does this mean, which is written, The stone which the builders rejected has become the head of the corner? Whoever shall fall on this stone, shall be dashed to pieces; but on whomever it shall fall, it will make him as chaff for the wind.

if we are this day examined with respect unto the good deed done to the infirm man, by what means he has been saved, be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by him does this man stand before you in health. This is the stone that was rejected with contempt by you builders, which has become the head of the corner.

Coming to him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by man, but in the sight of God, chosen and precious, you, also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, that you may offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. To you, then, who believe, is this preciousness: but the stone which the builders rejected, has become the head of the corner, and a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense to the disobedient, who stumble at the word because they are disobedient, to which stumbling they were also appointed.

Therefore, he that despises, despises not man, but God, who has given us his Holy Spirit.
