but I say to you, Resist not the evil man; but whosoever smites you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also;
with all humility and meekness, with long-suffering, bearing with one another in love;
It is needful, therefore, that the bishop be irreproachable, a husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, orderly, hospitable, apt to teach, not given to wine, not a striker, but gentle, not contentious, not a lover of money,
now a servant of the Lord must not engage in strife, but should be gentle towards all, apt in teaching, patient of wrong,
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, mild, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy.
And, when they came to the place that is called "The Skull," there they crucified Him, and the malefactors; one on the right hand, and the other on the left. And Jesus said, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do!" And, dividing His garments among them, they cast lots.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strifes, jealousies, wraths, factions, divisions, parties,
And all in the synagogue were filled with wrath, on hearing these things; and, rising up, they cast Him forth out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill on which their city had been built, to throw Him down headlong;
But they were filled with madness, and were conferring one with another as to what they should do to Jesus.
And, hearing this, and becoming full of wrath, they were crying aloud, saying, "Great is Diana of the Ephesians!" And the city was filled with the confusion; and they rushed with one accord into the theater, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus??acedonians??ellow-travelers of Paul.
But, crying out with a loud voice, they closed their ears, and rushed upon him with one accord; and, having thrust him forth outside of the city, they kept stoning him! And the witnesses laid their garments at the feet of a young man called Saul.
Now they were listening to him up to this word, and they lifted up their voice, saying, "Away with such a one from the earth; for it is not fit that he should live!" And, as they were crying out, and throwing off their garments, and casting dust into the air,
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath; neither give place to the Devil.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are righteous, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Ye know this, my beloved brethren; but let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for man's wrath works not God's righteousness.
Wherefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, being sober, hope perfectly for the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
and, even for this very reason, adding all diligence, in your faith supply virtue; and in virtue, knowledge; and in knowledge, continence; and in continence, patience; and in patience, godliness; and in godliness, brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, love.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and ye will not fulfill the desire of the flesh. For the flesh covets against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh; for these are contrary one to the other, that ye may not do the things which ye wish. But, if ye are being led by the Spirit, ye are not under law.
So then, my beloved, as ye always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God Who is working in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and sobriety.
