Yes, there are real people behind this website! We’re Sandra Friend and John Keatley, outdoor writers passionate about encouraging others to enjoy Florida’s outdoors. Sandra started this website in 2006 after writing a stack of hiking guidebooks to Florida and needed a way to share updates about the trails. She’s hiked over 5,000 miles in Florida, including the entire Florida National Scenic Trail. John focuses on cycling and paddling.
