Exploring Destin
An oceanfront community on Santa Rosa Island, Destin is a busy tourist destination on a deep water inlet across from Oklaloosa Island.
It sits to the west of a string of natural lands protecting some of the world’s rarest lakes, the Coastal Dune Lakes, most of which are in adjoining Walton County.
To the north of Choctawhatchee Bay, the Florida Trail threads through Nokuse Plantation and Eglin Air Force Base.
