Jal Joshua is bringing it on!
Formerly Carbuckety in the 2020 Asia tour, she’s now in rehearsals for the UK tour of Bring It On, in the role of La Cienaga.
And she’s still just as floppy as ever - although not until she’s got down from the lift!
Bonus - she wasn’t tagged in this, so the only reason I saw it was that I happened to be following someone whom I assume is the choreographer: Fabian Aloise, who was Coricopat in Hamburg in 1997–98.

This is actually even sweeter than it looks at first.
2020 Asia tour, the first day they got out of the rehearsal studio—or rather, the basement they’d had to move into for rehearsals after COVID restrictions meant the government closed down the proper rehearsal studio. So it was a long uncertain road to get into this building, never knowing whether they’d be completely shut down tomorrow.
Dominique Hamilton (Rumpleteazer) and Aaron Lynch (Coricopat) both did the 2014 and 2017 Asia tours together. So they’re old friends—and now, finally, they’re back on this set, in these costumes for the first time in years. They’re back in the Junkyard, back home, and they can share this moment together.
Also Natalie Bennyworth as Cassandra, Jal Joshua as Carbucketty, Dan Partridge as Tugger, Fletcher Dobinson as Alonzo, and George Hankers as Mungojerrie—all of whom have also been in various productions before, so there’s a certain amount of homecoming excitement for everyone!

Did… did pouncival just death drop???
I just had to look that term up, but, yep, it’s a move Jal’s been using for a while - and not just in Cats. He was also doing it fairly regularly during the finale in the first few weeks of the tour but I haven’t seen it from him for a while - certainly not since he came back from injuring his knee (he was off 14 Nov to 16 Dec or thereabouts), but I don’t remember seeing him do it for a while before that either.
And since he’s also a trans actor and model whose style is very genderfluid, I think it’s safe to say he’s probably more familiar with the term ‘death drop’ in the drag context than I was ten minutes ago. :)

Their pronouns apparently are he/she/they, and I’ve seen them use the words ‘trans’ and 'genderfluid’ to refer to themself or projects/groups they’re involved with. The latest show she’s been cast in involves playing a trans character - she was brought in as a replacement for a (presumably) cis actor after they realised “oh yes, we should actually cast a trans character for a trans role”.
Cute side note: he also sometimes refers to his Carbucketty or Mistoffelees as female.
