Holy water is a Ranged weapon that is used just like throwing knives and darts; however, it will only deal damage against demons. Throwing holy water will cause the vial to break, dropping smashed glass on the floor. This makes holy water a single-use weapon. Holy water is non-tradeable and has a +6 Ranged attack bonus when wielded. As a demonbane weapon it gains a 60% damage bonus versus demons on top of a +5 damage bonus if the demon is Nezikchened. It also grants bonus accuracy by draining the opponent's Defence level by 5%, provided it is a demon.[1]
Holy water uses a different form of damage calculation compared to how regular maximum Ranged hits are determined, which ignores some factors that normally serve to increase Ranged damage.[2] For instance, while boosting one's visible Ranged level will result in an increased maximum hit when using holy water, the use of stat-boosting prayers such as Eagle Eye or Rigour will not, nor does the set effect of Void ranger armour apply to holy water.[3]
The following formula can be used to calculate the max hit of Holy water :
^Only the player's visible ranged level matters. Boosts given through prayers and Void Knight armour are ignored.
^A stance bonus of 10 is used regardless of attack style used.
^The ranged strength bonus of the player's armour and gear is ignored. Only the ranged strength bonus of the player's ammo is used. In the case of Holy water, the weapon's ranged strength is used instead.
^The bonus damage usually provided by wearing a Slayer helmet (i), Salve amulet (i) or Salve amulet (ei) is ignored.
The making of holy water is learnt during Legends' Quest, by taking a Gold bowl to Gujuo and asking him to bless it; holy water cannot be made by players who have not made sufficient progress into the quest. The blessed gold bowl can then be filled with water from the Kharazi pool (via a hollow reed, cut from the tall reed plants by the pool with a machete) and then decanted into enchanted vials to make holy water. Holy water is stackable. One bowl will fill 10 enchanted vials. It is also possible to enchant the vials and siphon the sparkling water directly from the pool into the vials, but this is slower, since only one vial is filled per reed.

But what accuracy / damage bonus does the holy water ranged weapon from legends quest gain against demons?] It gets a 1.6x damage multiplier (stacked with +5 damage if the demon is Nezikchened in that quest). The accuracy bonus is more to do with how it drains the target's Defence stat by 5%."
