Father Urhney is an irritable Saradominist priest who lives in a shack in the Lumbridge Swamp. When spoken to he will tell you to go away because he is meditating. You can tell him that you have come to repossess his house for failing to make mortgage payments. He exclaims that he doesn't have a mortgage as he built his house himself.

He features in The Restless Ghost. Father Aereck describes Urhney as a "ghost expert" and asks the player to enlist his help in dealing with the ghost n Lumbridge cemetery. Father Urhney explains that he cannot return to Lumbridge to exorcise the ghost as he has vowed to remain in the swamp, praying and meditating, for two years. Instead he provides the player with a ghostspeak amulet. During Buyers and Cellars the player must steal a golden chalice from Father Urhney's house. To do so they light a fire outside his house to distract him and pick his pockets to get the key to chalice's display case.

He is one of the NPCs that can be talked to using NPC Contact. He believes that you are the voice of Saradomin, and asks what message the god has for him. The player will tell him to go and do something useful instead of sitting around in the swamp.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • His shack has been moved a total of three times. Originally, it was located on the east side of the swamp but it was moved to the west side of the swamp when an opening was made in the Lumbridge graveyard. It was then rotated 180 degrees so that the entrance faced north rather than south during the Advisors and Objectives update, and finally it was moved south of the Zanaris shack in a hidden update.
  • Before Buyers and Cellars was released, Urhney had the Pickpocket option, but when players chose to do that they did not receive anything.
  • When pickpocketed outside of quests, the chat box will say 'You don't want to dip into those pockets without good reason. They're holy...and filthy.'
  • Aereck and Urhney may be a reference to the comic double act Eric Morecambe and Ernie Wise.
  • In Grand Party, part of the 20th Anniversary celebrations in 2021, Father Urhney provided the player with his spare skull to exchange with a ghost.
  • The player can respond to one of Meg's questions about how she can help set wandering ghosts free by directing her to seek help from Father Urhney. The player may also provide the unhelpful answer to seek spiritual advice about the Saradominist church in Lumbridge from Urhney, saying "he loves company".
  • He appears in issue 2 of Postbag from the Hedge answering a letter asking why he has remained in the swamp for longer than two years. He explains that he must remain silent for two years, but keeps being interrupted by adventurers and having to start again.
