Great Egg-spectations is a seasonal quest released with the 2024 Easter event. The quest does not award quest points and is not required for the Quest Cape. It is available each year during the Easter period.

Official description[edit | edit source]

Work with the Easter Bunny's niece to search for some new and egg-citing chocolate ideas for the Easter Bunny.

Overview[edit | edit source]

Starting off[edit | edit source]

Cocoa Bunny's location

Start the quest by talking to the Easter Bunny in the Blooming Burrow who needs new chocolate recipes to combat his competitors and redirects you to his niece Cocoa Bunny. Speak to Cocoa Bunny, who can be found in a grove of trees in the hills to the south-east (see map). She suggests that her and the player spy on the chocolate-making competition to learn the recipes they're using. Make sure she is following you before moving on.

Eavesdropping on the recipes[edit | edit source]

You will have to eavesdrop on the recipes found in three different locations. You can eavesdrop on the recipes in any order. Each recipe is marked by a loot beam and will be visible on the minimap as a red dot. A cutscene will play after eavesdropping on each recipe.

Banoffee chocolate[edit | edit source]

The banoffe chocolate recipe on Musa Point

The first clue ("a man and a monkey living together in a tropical land") refers to Luthas and his monkey. Make your way to the easternmost building at Musa Point (see map) and select "eavesdrop" on the banoffee chocolate recipe there to learn the ingredients: a sliced banana and a bottle of caramel. The bottle of caramel will be made later in the quest.

You may grab a banana from a Banana Tree and slice it into a sliced banana before leaving.

Rocky road chocolate[edit | edit source]

The rocky road chocolate recipe in the dwarven mines

The second clue ("in a dark underground, where dwarves and scorpions can be found") refers to the dwarven mines. Make your way to the mines and eavesdrop on the rocky road chocolate recipe found on the table in Drogo's Mining Emporium (see map). The ingredients are biscuits and marshmallows. Marshmallows will be obtained later in the quest.

Fruit and nut chocolate[edit | edit source]

Needed: Grapes
The fruit and nut chocolate recipe in the Garden of Kharid

The third clue ("a group of pacifists, in a place where the sun beams down") refers to the druids in the Garden of Kharid. You can find the fruit and nut chocolate recipe in the hut in the north-eastern part of the garden by Polletix (see map). Eavesdrop on the recipe to learn about the ingredients required for it. The ingredients are nuts and dried grapes.

As you will need one unit of dried grapes later in the quest, dry the grapes on the washing line in the garden, just south of the hut where you found the recipe (see map).

The grapes cannot be dried on the washline until you have eavesdropped the other 2 recipes first.

Gathering the remaining ingredients[edit | edit source]

Sugar sacks

Return to the Blooming Burrow and enter the Egg Plant. Go up to the large platform with the chocolate machine and take some sugar from the sugar sacks.

Talk to Gooey Bunny to get some marshmallows.

The final ingredient, a bottle of caramel can be made by cooking the sugar on a range. There is a range in Easter Bunny's house in the northern part of the burrow that can be used.

Making the chocolate samples[edit | edit source]

Return and talk to Easter Bunny who instructs you to make the new types of chocolate.

Go back to the chocolate machine in the Egg Plant and mix the chocolate with the mixing station, earning experience in Herblore. Continue by moulding the chocolate with the moulding station, earning experience in Cooking. Lastly, foil the chocolate with the foiling station, earning experience in Crafting, to receive banoffee chocolate, fruit and nut chocolate, and rocky road chocolate. You may select any colour for the foil.

Return to Easter Bunny with the chocolates. He will ask you what you think of the Egg Plant; you may answer with any option. The Easter Bunny will then taste the chocolates but suggests that you should also perform some market research on how humans like them.

Market research[edit | edit source]

Location of chocolate tasting stall
Needed: Two planks of the same type (protean planks will not work)

Head to the Lumbridge Market. Build the chocolate tasting stall hotspot into the chocolate tasting stall with the planks, earning experience in Construction. This will start an interactive cutscene where you may select which chocolate to give each customer. When given choice, give either fruit and nut chocolate or rocky road chocolate to the first customer, a sample with less dried grapes to the second one, and banoffee chocolate to the third. Once the cutscene ends, head back to the Easter Bunny and talk to him to complete the quest.

Congratulations, quest complete!

    • Placed Cocoa Bunny on a stump during the Great Egg-spectations quest to make her easier to find.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Upon completion of the quest, the Adventurer's Log states: I worked with the Easter Bunny's niece to create some egg-citing new chocolate eggs for the Easter Bunny.
  • The name of the quest is a reference to the novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.
  • A dwarf that appears during a cutscene can be seen wielding a necronium pickaxe + 4, unlike the generic dwarves in the area.
