Sana was a deaf and budding sculptor who created works of art using the concept of fyrdeed that made her popular amongst Senntisten's elite. While doing her job, she was made aware of disappearances in the city that intensified as each day passed. The people of Senntisten began blaming each other for the disappearances, prompting Sana to create her largest fyrdeed yet to ease the tension of the citizens, using large amounts of wood and insects for the dyes needed. However, this caused the araxytes to appear, who had been attracted to the crushed insect dye and responsible for the disappearances. The people blamed Sana for their arrival and sought to kill her, but they were stopped by the Church who explained the situation. The Church was aware of the araxyte's presence but kept quiet to avoid a mass panic.
In an act of vengeance, Sana went to the araxytes' hive and created another fyrdeed to burn the spiders to the ground. On her way out after preparing the fyrdeed's last fuse, she was caught in a web and a torrent of araxytes charged at her. She resolved herself in the face of death, lighting the fyrdeed and burning the araxytes and herself in a flash. The webbing on her feet burned away and she escaped, watching the araxytes burn as her arms burned, until she was saved by a blanket wrapping around her. Returning home, Sana was hailed a hero and named the "Eradicator of Araxytes", guaranteeing her a place in the heroic section of Senntisten's graveyard. While she felt honoured, she also felt disappointment that people would remember her as a killer and not an artist.
