A waxed masterwork string is an item used in the creation of a masterwork bow. Creating it requires level 110 Fletching and completion of the Fletch Quest achievement. It is made by combining a bucket of vis wax with magic string using the bucket's "Wax" option.

The process requires a total of 125 points of progress to complete. Each point of progress takes 4 ticks (2.4 seconds) and yields 10 Fletching experience, so the whole process takes 300 seconds (5 minutes) and yields 1,250 Fletching experience. The progress can be checked from the tooltip on the bucket of vis wax.

One created, the waxed string can be combined with an unstrung masterwork bow to make an untightened masterwork bow. One waxed masterwork string is needed to make one masterwork bow.
