Progress

[edit]

I've started trying to match entries to items using OpenRefine. So far I've gone through the machine-suggested matches; I'm now working through the rest, to see what I can match manually. (I'm currently working through 'music').

See

for a hierarchical listing of all of the entries in the thesaurus, with matched entries linked to corresponding items.

As a caution, be aware that some of the matches I've made so far may be quite loose -- ie the nearest item that seemed to me relevant, so in some cases mapping relation type (P4390) = rather than related match (Q39894604) rather than exact match (Q39893449) or even close match (Q39893184).

I intend to mark these up as such once I've completed the initial matching pass; and along the way also add qualifiers like subject named as (P1810) and mapping relation type (P4390), and broader concept (P4900) to reflect the structure of the external thesaurus. Distinct Value?

[edit]

I don't think this should be a distinct value. Isn't it meant to be used to identify Rock operas, not just as an identifier under Rock opera? For instance, Tommy would get the code showing it to be a rock opera. Dbigwood (talk) 16:40, 26 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK now I understand better. There needs to be a new Property Library of Congress Genre/Form Terms ID (works and editions). Just as there is Library of Congress Classification and Library of Congress Classification (works and editions)
