ABC seeks data management solution

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has issued a tender for a modern data management solution, to meet its evolving needs.

In the tender request, ABC says the solution should not only function as a simple database, but also evolve into a comprehensive data management solution.

ABC is looking for a Structured Query Language (SQL) solution that is flexible with data manipulation over structured and unstructured information.

This is using SQL database functionality such as joins.

Storage and compute resources are to be independently scaled, with data connectors built in, and a separation of ingeset computation from the shared storage layer.

The solution is to be serverless, with hardware, replica and thread configurations automated.

ABC issued the tender via its Content Discovery Team, within Digital Product, P&T.

On August 7, ABC will hold a Microsoft Teams industry briefing on the tender at noon, AEST.

The close date for the tender is August 23, ACT local time.
