Aaron Rodgers could do with another receiver threat in Green Bay following the offseason trade which saw Davante Adams leave Titletown for Sin City.

There is a highly talented, proven wideout still on the market in odell beckham jr. who would be a great fit, and Rodgers just happens to be friends with.

'Odell and I have been friends for a number of years now,' Rodgers said on The Pat McAfee Show. 'And so we keep in contact often. We've talked various times over the years and obviously with a player like that, you're always hoping there's a time when you can figure things out and play together.'

Rumors of Beckham's suitability to Green Bay swirled following his social media commentary Sunday, where he had high praise for Rodgers.

'AR is [fire emoji]…. Honestly bro makes it look Effortlesss [sic],' Beckham tweeted during the Packers eventual overtime win vs. New England.

Beckham sent Packers fans swooning not long after an exchange with a follower who said 'lot of damage could be done with you and Rodgers,' to which Beckham replied, 'who u tellin [sic]. That's a different breed right there.'

While the prospect of a Rodgers-Beckham combination may set tongues wagging, the former Ram, Brown and Giant is still rehabbing from a knee injury sustained in the Super Bowl.

'I'm not sure what his status is going to be honestly and I don't think I'm speaking out of turn,' Rodgers said of Beckham. 'I think he'd probably say the same thing. I don't know if there's anybody that rehabs as hard as him. I mean, he works.

'But I like Odell and I appreciate his friendship. I, first and foremost, just want to see him healthy. He's dealt with a number of major injuries in the past five years and surgeries and rehabs, and the most important thing is him getting healthy.

'And then, I'm sure he'll have his pick of competitive playoff teams who are looking to add a stud like that to their roster.'

Rodgers would not be the only one in Green Bay wishing it involves the Pack.  Beckham has had prior interest in joining Green Bay according to NFL insider, Jordan Schultz, who reported the 29-year-old was down to the Packers or Rams before joining the future world champions last November.

Speculation surrounding Beckham Jr's future has remained topical despite a known timetable for his return. Reports emerged, and later confirmed, Beckham was at the New York Giants facility earlier this week.

However, it was only to visit friend and fellow wideout Sterling Shepard who tore his ACL during the Giants' loss to Dallas on MNF two weeks ago.

Beckham has also been linked with a return to the Los Angeles Rams and the Buffalo Bills, where his close friend Von Miller plays following a move from the Super Bowl champs.
