Jennifer Tilly dropped quite the bombshell on Tuesday's episode of Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, revealing she owns a piece of The Simpsons.

The 66-year-old is best known as an actress in films such as The Bride of Chucky and as a professional poker player, before joining the reality show this year.

She was part of a group trip to Oceanside on the new episode, when talk turned to divorce, which Tilly was quite familiar with.

Tilly was married to Sam Simon from 1984 to 1991. He developed Fox's wildly popular animated series The Simpsons, which debuted in 1989 and is still going strong.

During a confession, Tilly revealed that she actually owns a piece of the long-running show, which she got in her divorce from Simon, prompting fans to freak out on social media.

Tilly's net worth is estimated to be around $40 million, which includes earnings from her Simpsons royalties, acting, reality TV and nearly $1 million in earnings from playing poker professionally.

'My ex-husband was Sam Simon, who created The Simpsons. I was married to him for seven years. We were together for about ten years. And then when we got divorced, I got a piece of The Simpsons in the divorce settlement, and nobody knew that The Simpsons was gonna go on for trillions of years. So, every day, honestly every day, I'm like, thank you, Sam,' Tilly revealed in confession.

While Matt Groening is typically credited as the sole creator of The Simpsons, he developed the show with Tilly's ex Simon and James L. Brooks.

Simon was hailed as the 'unsung hero' of The Simpsons by director Brad Bird - who would move on from directing The Simpsons episodes to making The Incredibles and Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

SImon ultimately left the show in 1993, but negotiated a deal upon his exit that earned him a share of the show's profits each year, reportedly worth up to $10 million a year.

Tilly remained close with Simon until his passing from colon cancer at just 59 back in March 2015, with his will leaving Tilly 30% of his royalties from The Simpsons, via RealityTea.

Simon was worth a whopping $100 million when he passed away in 2015, dedicating much of that fortune to charities and animal rights organizations.

Back in 2016, a woman named Katie Porter, who claimed was Simon's 'intimate' partner for the last three years of his life, filed a claim against his estate.

She claimed that Simon promised to leave her $5 million tax free in his will if she agreed to "refrain from continuing to work.'

Porter claimed she has kept up her part of the deal that she agreed to, though it wasn't clear if Porter was actually made a beneficiary in the will. 

Tilly also filed a claim with the estate stating that her 1993 divorce agreement with Simon guarantees her an, 'ongoing community property interest,' meaning she was entitled to one-half of Simon's interest.

That community property also included her ex-husband's projects, which also included long-running The Drew Carey Show.

Simon also served as a writer and producer on a number of hit shows such as Taxi, Cheers, It's Garry Shandling's Show, The Tracey Ullman Show, Saturday Night Live and Phenom.

Tilly also spoke about the money that comes in from Simon's Simpsons earnings on a November 2021 podcast.

'I used to do a lot of movies because the roof was leaking, or to pay for the plumbing, and now I don't have to,' Tilly said on the podcast.
