SPOILER ALERT: Fans outraged after The Walking Dead's season finale ends on another bloody cliffhanger as Negan makes deadly debut

Negan made his deadly debut on Sunday's season finale of The Walking Dead and used a children's game to pick his victim.

The sixth season of the hit AMC show ended with a cliffhanger as Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, wielded his barb wire-encrusted bat nicknamed Lucille.

The leader of the Saviors played a game of 'Eeny, meeny, miny, moe' as he picked his victim.

The villain: Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, made his full debut on Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead

He took turns during the game pointing Lucille at leader Rick Grimes, his son Carl, wounded Daryl, Eugene, Abraham, Michonne, sick and pregnant Maggie and her boyfriend Glenn Rhee.

Negan before bringing the game to a deadly end warned that if anyone moved that Carl's other eye would be cut out and fed to his father Rick.

With Rick and his crew kneeling before him, Negan raised his weapon and brought it smashing down as the rhyme came to an end.

'Taking it like a champ,' Negan said to his victim before delivering several more sickening blows as the screen turned black.

The cliffhanger had viewers watching the execution from the viewpoint of the unlucky victim - without ever finding out who died.

The show kicked off with Morgan wandering through a field where he discovered a horse.

In Alexandria, Rick and the group loaded up their RV to get help for pregnant Maggie, while Morgan out on his horse then came across injured Carol.

A Saviors patrol then set up a road block with a beaten hostage and the RV soon came across it.

Rick jumped out of the RV and made his way toward the group with his hands up and told them he wanted to make a deal.

But when the Saviors said they wanted all their stuff and to kill one of the group Rick told them he was not dealing.

‘You want to make today your last day on earth?’ Rick asked him.

The leader of the Saviors patrol then warned Rick to be kind to his group like it was his last day on earth as the RV backed away from the confrontation.

Carol and Morgan then talked about their ability to kill, and Carol told them there were always people to kill if you had people you loved and if you did not want to kill you had to get away from them.

Morgan told her that out on her own she would die and urged him to leave her to do just that.

When he told her he would not leave her she pulled a gun on him and ordered him to leave.

‘If you care about anyone Morgan, there is a price and you are going to pay it, I have and I can’t any more,’ Carol told him through tears.

Back in the RV, Rick and his group again ran into another road block form the Saviors and asked if they were going to make their stand he replied: ‘Yeah, we end it, but not now, they have been waiting, they are ready. We play it our way, how we want it.’

The group again backed away from confrontation as their opponents began to shoot rounds into the air.

Morgan went for a walk but when he got back to the building Carol was gone.

The RV’s progress was again stopped by a chained together group of zombies blocking the road.

But when they went to kill them one of the zombie’s appeared to be have Michonne’s hair and another Daryl’s gear.

Just as Rick was working out what to do they came under gun fire from their enemies and he killed the zombies to clear a route through.

Rick told the group that their enemies had only fired at their feet and wanted them moving in the direction they were going.

Eventually they hit a bigger roadblock with a large number of armed enemies.

Carol then found herself under serious zombie attack before being jumped on by a man and shot through the arm.

But it was not the end for Carol as Morgan broke his no-kill policy to save her life and told her ‘It’s not your time.’

The pair were then confronted by two heavily armored soldiers from a previously unseen group who offered to help them.

Rick and the group then went out on foot and came up against a huge roadblock of felled trees with Abraham telling them how they were ’Up s*** creek with our mouths open.’

Eugene then volunteered to drive the RV as a distraction while the group went out on foot to evade their tormentors.

‘Thank you for all of it, we are lucky you are here,’ Rick told him before Abraham gave him an emotional hug and branded him ‘A survivor, we just didn’t know it.’

The group them lifted Maggie out on a stretcher and began to carry her through the woods.

Finally behind the wheel Eugene took a deep breath and smiled to himself as he pulled away leaving the group behind.

It did not take long for the group to be found by armed men tracking them through the darkness, and when they got to a clearing they were finally surrounded on all sides and there was nowhere left to run.

When Rick turned around he saw a captured Eugene on his knees, where he was joined by the rest of the group, including Maggie.

The missing members of the group including Glenn, Rosita and Daryl were then brought out from a truck and joined the rest of their comrades on their knees.

‘Okay we have got a full boat lets meet the man,’ one of their enemies crowed.

And it was Negan who stepped out of the RV.

‘Pissing our pants yet? Boy, I have a feeling we are getting close,’ Negan told them as he carried his baseball bat on his shoulder.

Negan then confronted Rick and told him he ‘did not appreciate’ the group killing his men.

‘Not cool, you have no idea how not cool that s*** is, but I think you are going to be up to speed shortly,’ he added.

‘You are so going to regret crossing me in a few minutes, yes, you are. You see Rick whatever you do, you don’t mess with the new world order.’

Negan told him that the new world order was easy to understand.

‘Give me your s*** or I will kill you,’ he said as he told them he had invested a lot to show them what he was capable of.

‘You work for me now. You have s*** you give it to me, that is your job,’ he added.

‘You ruled the roost, you built something, you thought you were safe I get it. But the word is out you are not safe, not even close.’

Negan then asked them if they thought they would get through without being punished.

‘I don’t want to kill you people, I want you to work for me, you can’t do that if you are dead now can you? Im not growing a garden but you killed my people ,a whole damn lot of them, more than I am comfortable with and for that you have got to pay.

‘So now I’m going to beat the holy hell out of one of you,’ he said introducing his ‘awesome’ baseball bat Lucille.

Negan then paced around while deciding which one to attack.

When he told Maggie he should put her out of her misery, Glenn jumped forward screaming to protect her.

‘It sucks don’t it the moment you realize you don;t know s***,’ Negan told Rick as he looked at his son Carl and worked out their relationship.

‘I simply cannot decide, I got an idea,’ he said before playing Eeny Meeny Miny Moe with the group.

Finally Negan picked his victim and swung the bat, but viewers were not shown who it was.

A stream of blood rolled down as viewers got a first person look at the execution as the screen went black but the attack continued.
