New brutal western Wraiths of the Broken Land is available at: http://www.rawdogscreaming.com/wraith...
This is by S. Craig Zahler, the author of the Spur and Peacekeeper nominated book, A Congregation of Jackals, and the screenwriter of The Brigands of Rattleborge.
Here are quotations from Jack Ketchum & Edward Lee---
"It would be utterly insufficient to say that Wraiths is the most diversified and expertly written western I’ve ever read. You’ll smell the stink, taste the blood, feel the grit, hear the screams, and blow the burned gunpowder right out of your nose.
Zahler puts his reader into possession of the dim, grim era with the command of guys like Max Brand and Owen Wister, and unleashes an avalanche of action like a genetic cross between Peckinpah, Takashi Miike, and Abel Ferrara."
–Edward Lee, author of The Bighead and Gast
"WRAITHS always rings true, whether it's visiting the depths of despair, the fury of violence, or the fragile ties that bind us together for good or ill. It's a Western with heart and intelligence, always vivid, with characters you will detest or care about or both, powerfully written."
-- Jack Ketchum author of Off Season and The Girl Next Door

I have many favorite and know even more than on the list that I loved, but I'm so bad with remembering titles. I often can picture them! Love them western romances! I shall be back after thinking more! Great list!
There is a book I'm looking for but can't remember the Author or Title of the book. It was about a man (pretty sure a cowboy) being thrown in a hole that connected to a mine shaft. He was awaiting a judge to come to town because he committed a crime. A woman was put in with him and they fall in love. Please help!! I'm almost positive that the cover of the book had a cowboy on it also. I have tried Google searching and nothing has come up!

How do you know you don't like Westerns if you've never tried reading one before? That's like a kid saying she doesn't like a vegetable when she never gave that vegetable a chance. Don't knock it 'till you try it!
