Like I often do I went into this book knowing little next to nothing of the plot and I definitely enjoyed the ride.
The Frostbound Queen is a standalone spicy fantasy about Liria, the only daughter of the King and Queen of winter. When her parents succumb so their sorrow, Liria is forced to learn to use her powers to control the Frost that protects Winter fro the humans. At eleven she accept the offer of her fathe´s best friend, Lord Ronan, to become her guardian and train her to be Queen.
Without going too much into details and spoil the plot, I just want to say that I loved how this book evolved the relationships between the characters so seamlessly from FM, to another FM, to MM and finally MMF! it was hot and i love a good polyamory trouple!!!!
The only reason why I gave it 3 starts it´s because Ronan could have been anyone else but her guardian. That felt a lot like grooming since Liria goes and lives with his since she is 12. (I know she is 22 now and that we are reading about nearly immortal elvs here, but it still felt too much)....more

I´m glad I started this book without realizing it was by the same author as The Coven. Those who follow me know I didn´t love the two books in that series mainly because of the writing style, but I feel that in What Lies Beyond The Veil, Woods improved a lot.
Nontheless, the plots of the first books are similar and very predictable, I saw the plot twist coming 20% into the book, but I still enjoyed it.
For sure I can see the appeal for someone who is approaching this genre and who wants a morally grey MMC with a super filthy mouth, but for someone as seasoned as me it was very basic (which is not an insult it´s just objectivity). Maybe one day I´ll read book 2, maybe not....more

Zodiac Academy hangover? Don´t worry, Olivia Pharos is here to save you!
For the category books that need all the hype, we have Celestial Academy: Essence, the first book in this new, adventurous, epic, sexy, urban fantasy.
First of all thank you NetGalle and IBPA for the ALC, if it weren´t for you I would have never discovered what might be my newest obsession.
I loved how Olivia was able to put into this book so many of the vibes I love without copying any other fantasy. Yes, we have Godric aka Godawful, the broody-powerful-possessive MMC; Wen, the sassy -apparently powerless but actually not- FMC, a deadly school, and many other tropes we all love and cherish. But the plot, how the story evolves, and the slow burn, are so original and refreshing they immediately trapped me in.
I love all the female characters and I can´t wait for them to form the ultimate girlbosses squad and just kill everyone in their path.
If you love: - Morally grey characters - Slow burn - Hidden powers - Academy - Angels and Demons - Friendship - Amazing banter Then what are you waiting for???? RUN!
The ALC was splendidly narrated and I had a super fun time listening to it!

Thank you NetGalley and RB Media for an early copy of this audiobook! S.T Gibson really intrigues me, her books are like a tickle I cannot scratch. It happened first with a Dowry of Blood and again with Evocations. The story is interesting, and the characters are interesting, but something is missing. For the second time, while reading this author, I waited and waited for the big BANG, but what I had was continuos edging. As foreplay goes this delivers, but I want more! I wanted more David, more Rhys, and sooooo much more Moira.
The plot was engaging even though nothing was really happening, or just happening very slowly. Personally, I don´t dislike slow books, and I didn´t dislike this one, but I got bored at different points and that is not ideal.
The polyamory aspect of the book I really liked, she is very good with that and I loved the angst between David and Rhys and its overall arc.
David and Moira are also so well written, but yet again not completely pleasing. I wanted to see more about their platonic love and how they managed to integrate it with their romantic love for Rhys.

‼️To all Throne of Glass fans, this is for you. ‼️
The Curse of Sins is book two in The Curse of Saints series.
The story picks up directly from the ending of book one, with Aya and Will returning to their home kingdom, Aiden becoming king and Josie still struggling with Vivienne's treason. Aya and Will know their queen Gianna is plotting and scheming, but why, and what is her main goal?
I really enjoyed this second installment in the series! Book one was very complicated, the worldbuilding confused and sometimes boring, the only character which had some depth was Will and I struggled a lot finishing it... But, like for ToG you have to trust the process because book two gets much better. The plot thickens, the pace picks up, and the secrets aren´t secreting as much as creating problems.

Thank you Bolina audiobook and NetGalley for allowing me to listen to this audiobook. I know in this case I arrive late to the party, since A Discovery of Witches it´s not just an amazing book, but it has also 4 season of tv series. But one cannot read everything, as much as I wish and try. So when I stumbled upon this audiobook on NetGalley it was a divine sign.
I loved it. It´s not a super fast paced book but I am a sucker for a good old Acatemia/Witchy vibe and this book delivers. Dalia is intelligent but utterly clueless, her character changes a lot during the book, like the story does and I loved her character arc. We discover her page by page, and up until the end she manages to surprise adding more and more layers to her character. A lot of this layers are thanks to Matthew, who, to me, was the pillar of all this story.
The plot was so good, there were so many locations, characters, intrigues and more, but the vibe of the book remained the same all along.
Now going into book two I´m so curios to see where Matthew and Diana will bring us.
One thing I know for sure, now I have to catch up also with the tv series because I need to see how they developed all the characters and places (mainly the yoga classes which are my biggest dream).
The voice actress did an amazing job and I loved her voice. ...more

Thank you Net Galley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to listen to this audiobook.
This one was an enjoyable story. I can see how there will be multiple books since this first one was just a big introduction to the characters. It can be true that this book results a little slow and with nothing major happening, but I´m not upset about it. When dealing with stories with so many characters it´s important to craft all the relationships to make them make sense. We are talking of a mated group of six people (one girl, five boys - yes it´s a reverse harem-) plus secondary characters and bad guys, add to all of this a complex world-building where our FMC lives confined inside the walls of the Hotel she is imprisoned in and it´s easy to have a book that is kind of slower, bucause the story needs to be set. Furthermore the FMC is living yes in a complex world building but also in a small reality, being confined in a ´small´ building. To me this kind of setting is super interesting but can be a little tedious to see the main character do the same things repeatedly. In this first volume the reader gets introduced to the mated group's powers and different personalities and I am sure the story will pick up majorly after the events at the end of this first book. There was one thing that annoyed me and it was all the secrecy. After the 60% I was a little tired of the lack of communication between the six main characters. Just speak to each other!!!!
Dreamscape production was flawless like always and I loved the actors voices. Mainly the female actress was on point with the timing and tones. I liked her very much. The male voice was just for one chapter at the end and I liked it, but cannot say more since there is not much material to review....more
Today I finished Immortal Longings and hat to take a moment to collect my feelings. This book is classified as Fantasy but I would put it also in the Today I finished Immortal Longings and hat to take a moment to collect my feelings. This book is classified as Fantasy but I would put it also in the dystopian category. To be honest, its weird classification was what intrigued me the most.
The world-building wasn't that strong but this book just had a sort of vibe I immediately connected to. I liked a lot this obscure city, where people are poor and everything is lit up by pubs or clubs lights (I think the Spayed Edges Fairyloot edition did an amazing job with the cover), the King is in hiding and everyone plots solely for themself. The dystopian factor it's in all the technology and hierarchy, but the fantasy aspect comes into play with the jumping. The main event of the book takes place around a deadly game that will bring the victor many riches and wealth, and yes, it's very Hunger Games, but I loved that this game took place inside the city and that not even the civilians were safe from the jumping.
Another aspect I liked a lot is Calla's attraction to Anton. In this story Anton doesn't have a body, he is one of the most powerful jumpers and his true form was exiled from the city, so he 'loans' other people's bodies and Calla manages to fall in love with him anyway. She falls for his personality, his passion, and his values and not for just some flesh.
I also liked the contrast between Anton, someone who jumps from body to body like it's nothing, and Calla who just simply refuses to do so.
Maybe the book wasn't the most loved by this author, but I haven't read anything else from her so I cannot be biased. ...more

Well I´m sold!
The Twisted Sisters never dissapoint and I must tattoo this phrase somewhere because after having real almost everything from them I am sure of it.
In this story we follow Callie and Montana, two twins from Realm G, a realm fully controlled by vampires, where humans are used just as blood bags and nothing more.
The book is written from the two twins POVs and from the very chapters we see immediately their personalities. In the beginning I was worried they were too similar to my ZA girls, but ABSOLUTELY NOT. At first we meet the sisters in their home in Realm G, soon to embark in to completely different storylines when the two are divided.
Montana, the one that is more prone to daydream of a fantay world, was a revelation. I loved everything about her and her story, Every interaction with Prince Eric was spot on and I am already craving more. - yes I know he is toxic and mean but sorry not sorry, I love him- Callie started strong and her journey it´s super interesting plot wise, mainly after she and Magnar start opening up to each other, it adds so many layers, but eventually her personality got a bit lost in my opinion.
A think that I loved in the narration it´s all the small differences in between the characters and world buiding, like for example: Eric - Vampire, Royal Family from Realm A, knows everyhing about technology Magnar - Viking vampire slayer, sleept for hundreds of years, doesn´t know anything about the new contemporary world Callie and Montana - Humans, poor, only contact with technology was from what their father said about the world before the war. I know it´s just details but they really shows how well thought it´s this book. I loved it!
Here the romance was very little, we can defenetly read the connection in between the couples but nothing happens, there is no spice… for now…...more
