If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be: WILD… but in a good way, definitely in a good way. It's so good I wanna cry.
"Please know I say this with the utmost compassion, but you need a therapist, like holy crap."
Before even starting this book, my first impressions were that it was gonna be cringy. I’m mean I’m NoT LiKe OtHeR gIrLs? What more could I expect? But right off the bat, I fell in love. The main character, Jo, is so relatable and is one of the best characters I’ve read about in a long time. I love the feeling how she’s not telling the story, but she's really talking to you. I love how you can really feel her emotions through the book, her joy, anxiety, anger and sadness, you really feel it.
"This is the trouble with girls like me, we don't stop, don't listen, don't shut up, don't say the right thing, don't say anything when it matter most. And we run, always from something, never towards anything."
I was not expecting there to be a fake dating trope in the book, but I loved it, absolutely love it. Jo and Hudson are so friggin cute, even as friends. Hudson is the standard. Give me a Hudson right now. He's so loving and understanding and AHHH!!
"Maybe this can’t happen right now, but if I have to choose between it or you, I choose you everytime."
I loved all the characters so much. Even the ones you’re supposed to hate, I loved hating them. The dynamic of all the different characters interacting was just written so well. Each person had their own individual personalities that made it so hard not to relate to someone.
The message in this book was amazing and I hope it brings awareness to the problems discussed in the book. Following Jo in the story, finding things about herself, really made me realize things about me as well and I could really relate to her. I hope that anyone who reads this and relates to what happened to Jo, finds comfort in this book and knows they aren't alone <33
"No, two letters, one complete sentence."
I love how this was a mystery, but it wasn’t the MAIN focus and there were other things that drove the book, it made it a lot more enjoyable.
The ending was crazy and overwhelming and... underwhelming at the same time… but in a good way?? I don’t know how to explain it but everything in this book was just done right. The small hints you get, the romance, the mystery. I really REALLY enjoyed it and I’m so, SO sad to leave these characters behind.
"I dont think it's Maddy you miss, I think you miss you."

4.43 starts, definitely my favorite Karen M McManus book so far. I really liked the characters and how you got to see Allison's perspective from the past and how things from then would come up in the present. I will admit, I did not see anything coming, I was shocked (view spoiler)[but when did Milly start liking Jonah tho, I feel like it was so sudden (hide spoiler)] Archer is my favorite character and his relationship with Aubrey reminds me of Mabel and Grunkle Stan
Also here are some of my favorite quotes/parts: Milly: I’m not sure which is more frustrating: that my mother is trying to blackmail me into spending the summer working for a grandmother I’ve never met, or that it’s totally going to work.
Jonah: the ferry time is inconvenient and I don’t see the point in arriving in tandem anyway. Milly: ugh why is he such trash??? Jonah: excuse me? Milly: … Milly: Sorry, wrong chat. Milly, in our private chat: crap
Milly: I got a little confused by the whole J. Crew model look you have going. I have to admit, that’s unexpected. I thought you’d look how you talk. Like a constipated gnome.
Jonah, being an absolut boss at pool: We’re stripes
Milly: it occurs to me that lying to a liar isn’t the worst sin I could commit
Jonah: Serves her right for barging in at this ungodly hour of- okay, ten-thirty. Maybe I should’ve been up by now
Jonah: I’m not sure what comes next in the big scheme of things, but for the here and now we’re having a cookout. Which seems strangely normal given the past twenty-four hours, but it’s summer and we have to eat
Oona: I wasn’t entirely sure what you’d been feeding these poor kids Archer: “I’m doing my best” archer claims, flipping a burger straight into the grass.
Milly: At least we looked good while we were getting thrown out

The amount of details put into the book is incredible, something so small can turn out to be so significant. The story is so unpredictable and easy to follow and so unique. I was so happy and entertained with the whole plot. I love Sloane and I’m so happy she got more recognition and we learned her backstory (still waiting for lia!!) Judd is the best character and I love him so much. I could not believe the ending, I really couldn’t. I actually gasped, like full on. I dont understand how she is capable of writing so good. the plot was amazing and so unpredictable and honestly quite scary. the character are so fun, although they are basically copy paste from the inheritance games. in the inheritance games I knew from the start I was team jameson for life, so I thought I would be team michael, but its SO HARD to choose. I hope one of the turn or to be a serial killer/psycopath to make the decision easier. my thoughts Sara Shepard is probably my favorite author and once again she hasn't disappointed. I really thought I knew who the killer was, I was so convinced I was right... but I wasnt and I did not see that plot twist coming, but thinking back to it, it feels like it was right there the whole time.
In every book where there is a love triangle the guys are always so salty, but michael was so supportive and gave her patience and that made me so happy. in the inheritance games I was team jameson from the start but now I’m really conflicted, I love both of them. Dean can be a bit... much at times, but I still love him
the whole concept of the naturals program is so cool and I wish I was a natural, and honestly after reading this I feel like I’m ready to join the FBI.
I’m saw a lot of similarities between the naturals and the inheritance games 1. Cassie is like Avery. Mom is dead, dad is out of the picture, works in a restaurant to make extra cash. 2. Cassie’s swearing is like max -> what the hello kitty just happened. Mother foxing elf. 3. Michael is Jameson. He’s even got the whole nickname thing going on 4. Dean is Grayson. He even excessively works out 5. Lia is Thea (it even rhymes). Like literally I’m reading about the same person, both are ALWAYS causing trouble
I really can't tell if I liked the naturals or the inheritance games better, they were both so amazing....more
