Rosie, a romantic at heart, and Aiden, a grumpy literary fiction writer, attend the same writing workshop. They usually criticize each other’s work mercilessly. After a particularly heated debate during class, they are punished by having to write a novel together.
The writing was great and I can’t wait to read more from this author, I devoured this book! It didn’t feel like a debut at all; the characters were lovable and realistic, the enemies to lovers beautifully executed. The chemistry and tension between Rosie and Aiden? Chef’s kiss! I adored the way they opened up to each other and slowly progressed from enemies to friends and then lovers. The fact that it wasn’t always smooth and easy made them more relatable and made me like them and the book even more.
What didn’t work for me was that because the romance they were writing was based on their own, they shared their most private moments with the whole class. They even included their first kiss in the book and read about it out loud for everyone to hear and judge...more

I loved the romance and both Gerry and Lisette were sweet and likable. The writing was great too and I’m sure I’ll pick up more from this author.
The mystery behinds Lisette’s imprisonment was very easy to solve and I had it on the first clue. Since it’s a Rapunzel retelling, maybe I shouldn’t complain that there was a mystery involving locking up an innocent girl, but it was such an infuriating and heartbreaking story that it changed the reading experience for me. I can’t exactly say that it ruined it, I still enjoyed the book, but I can’t say that it was a light read.
To sum up I’m very happy that I found this series. I enjoyed all five novellas and discovered two new authors....more

Caroline and Preston have been friends for their entire lives. A year ago they promised each other that they’d be together. But then Preston was hurt and scarred in a fire and broke their almost-engagement, because he didn’t think Caroline would still want him. How could he think she was that shallow is beyond me. For most of the book Preston was busy with I-love-you-but-we-can’t-be-together, and it was annoying how dense he was and how much time it took him to realize that.
All in all it was cute and I still love this author’s writing, but I expected more.

Holly was about to get married, which she was very excited about, but her fiancé broke the engagement accusing her of bad behavior. Now with her reputation in shambles, she ends up in the countryside, coincidentally in the same house as Robert, her brother’s friend, who lost a foot in the war.
I loved the way Holly’s character developed. She turned from a shallow society miss to a very likable heroine and I rooted for her. There’s material for a full length novel here, but the novella worked for me too.

Scarlett lives in France, in a small cottage in the woods, with her grandmother and sister. Caspar is an English earl, currently looking for a hidden treasure in said woods (he wants to give it away, so maybe it’s a Robin Hood retelling?). He finds shelter in the cottage during a snowstorm and falls in love with Scarlett.
This book didn’t make me feel much but I’ve had this problem with other books from this author too. They are nice but just too clean for me; there’s never enough chemistry between the MCs and even though the writing is good and I enjoy the story, I can’t ever really love it....more

I’ve read other books by this author before but this is the first I fell in love with. It’s a fairytale retelling, and it’s rather unapologetically fairytale-like so don’t expect any historical accuracy. It’s not even clear what year it is exactly, but it’s not the point.
Rose has no income and her father is in debtor’s prison. She is desperate and accepts a position of a maid at Lord Norcliffe’s house. She quickly starts calling him Henry because, as I mentioned, it’s a fairytale. There’s horse riding in the rain, a bit of angst and a hea.
I wish this book were longer because it was all very rushed. I really liked these characters and wanted more of them together. Unfortunately it’s a novella and not everything is possible. But this is my only complaint, I highly recommended this book if you want a cozy, clean short story....more

I’m sorry but this book is so boring I just can’t. Maybe it’s a me problem, because it seems to have all the right ingredients, a tormented hero, childhood friends to lovers, ‘it’s always been you’. Unfortunately there’s no life in it and it makes me feel absolutely nothing.

A soft chuckle vibrates in his chest and at first, I enjoy the sound, thinking he might find me funny, but then I realize the laugh is condescending. “Let’s get one thing straight. I don’t want you here. I didn’t ask for you to move in, and the only reason you’re here is because you’re my sister’s friend and I’m the reason she doesn’t have very many. I like my space, and if it were my choice, I’d be living alone. So, no, Indiana, we’re not going to be friends. The first two books in this series were adorable and there was an element of mystery because all communication was over the phone. This one didn’t have that, the MCs were together all the time, the over the phone communication was with his mom, which was icky and unnecessary.
It wasn’t all bad, I enjoyed the writing and Sam was a real sweetheart. Actually both MCs were likable and I wish them all the best. I hope they move to Portugal and will visit his mom once a year tops.

I just can’t… The heroine thinks she’s clairvoyant and keeps on going about energies and other hocus-pocus. She gave the hero a crystal and told him to ‘cleanse’ it by exposing it to moonlight or putting in dirt - my eyeroll muscles are so sore!
Unfortunately this is the only magic this book has to offer. There’s absolutely zero chemistry between the MCs. The mmc is giddy because some chick asked him out at freakin 55% of the book… Is this even a romance?

What I love about this author’s writing is the way she puts things into perspective. You think you’re a quitter? No, you’re a trier. You think your meeting was a disaster because you cried afterwards? Considering the news you received, you did great. There’s always an upside and she never fails to point it out.
This story is complicated. Eve gets pregnant and the father of her future child is in a relationship with someone else. It’s a mess. But then we meet Shep, who is the goldest of the golden retrievers and the cinnamonest of the cinnamon rolls. Shep just makes everything better. He lets Eve cry on his shoulder when she’s stuck, he is always there for her, he makes sure there’s food in her fridge. On top of that he’s tall, adorably lanky and just the right amount of dorky.
I loved the way Shep took care of Eve and finally, finally got out of the friend zone. He was such a perfect book boyfriend! The man was even okay with the fact that she was pregnant with someone else’s baby, it doesn’t get better than that.
This is not a book with an easy HEA, but that makes it even more uplifting. The bright side is always there, sometimes you just have to try harder to see it....more

It was impossible to not like Cassidy, he dedicated his life to being liked, he even had a little notebook to jot down things people like, (which may seem a little serial-killery, but it's not that kind of book). So yes, I admit, he had a lot of book boyfriend qualities and the romance was sweet, but he was also a terrible pushover and I just wished he grew a backbone because argh!!!
I liked the way he treated Marina and the way their romance progressed from an easy friendship to something more. The small town provided a great background for the story and it was all very cozy.
What surprised me was the whole bed sharing thing, because that's not what people do. Normal people get a cheap couch from ikea or an air mattress. You don't share a bed with a roommate! I like the only-one-bed trope but this was definitely an overkill.
Another thing that bothered me was the unprotected sex (and in the ocean of all places - yikes, that must have been uncomfortable!). Don't try this at home, kids!...more

But this is the next level, it’s not Reylo anymore, this is The Love Hypothesis fanfic. There’s even a gay best friend/roommate and an Asian bestie with a boyfriend called Jeremy.
My expectations were not high since many friends didn’t enjoy this book, but I had to give it a shot, I have a soft spot for musicians. I’m so glad I did because it was exactly what I needed. There was music induced chemistry, a grumpy hero who falls first, a likable heroine and plenty of spice.
So if you like Ali Hazelwood, there’s a good chance you’ll like Julie Soto too.

I’m not a fan of second chance romance. It has to be done really well for me to enjoy it, and this one was perfection.
The reason why Georgia and Eli had split was heartbreaking. Relationships fall apart because of stuff like that irl too. It takes time, effort and growth to repair that damage and that is exactly what this book is about.
I love this author’s no-nonsense way of talking about the most important things in life. There’s no sugar coating, no pretending that it’s enough to love each other and it will be okay. Some things are difficult and messy and you need to accept them all if you want to be happy.
Five stars and I can’t wait to read more from this author....more
