All the main characters have strong personalities, each of them have to deal with different issues and the way they deal with them is unique. Shadowpaw keeps doubting and loathing himself, Bristlefrost gets heartbroken, Rootpaw lets the bullies affect the way he views his father. Looks like all of them have a character development journey ahead and I can't wait to see where it leads. Shadowclan's perspective in the book is very interesting. The way other cats treat Shadowpaw is so unfair! They're quick to complain about the fact that only he is receiving visions, when this whole time the cats in Thunderclan have been the only ones to receive visions and prophecies. Jayfeather was especially harsh with Shadowpaw, yikes! Alderheart was understandably supportive of Shadowpaw because he definitely knows what it means to receive visions and to have no one believe you. Puddleshine should have been more supportive. I feel like his only purpose in the book is to be doubtful and annoying. I kind of feel sad about the bullying Rootpaw receives. He doesn't deserve it at all but I also feel like he's letting himself be affected by it. Instead of standing up for his father and not letting other's opinions get to him, he chooses to blame Tree. He hates his father even when he does something useful and other cats aren't making fun of him. That's kind of spiteful, if you ask me. As for Bristlefrost, it seems like she's a very brave and selfless cat, eager to prove her place in the clan. She kind of reminds me of Feathertail from the 2nd ARC. I believe she's truly selfless and cares about everyone's wellbeing even though she was especially rude at Rootpaw at first. I really ship them and it seems as if they would be a cute and perfect couple. There was also a cute moment between Shadowpaw and Rootpaw in the book, can't forget about that one. The whole Bramblestar thing was weird. I hope he's okay? It seems like his body is not him anymore and his spirit is wandering around. I bet the voice that has been talking to Shadowpaw has possessed his body. I'm giving this book 5 stars, I love this arc already!...more

This Super Edition was surprisingly well written compared to the one I've read recently (Riverstar's Home). After reading A Vision of Shadows and forcing myself to read 3 super editions 2 of which were decent but hard to go through (Hawking's Journey, Tiger heart's Shadow) and one of which was great in my opinion (One star's Confession), I did not expect much. I hated the story setting in AVoS and I would avoid reading that ARC again at all costs. But this book made my hopes lift up again. I apologize for the long rant but the way some books are written irks me so much.
Anyhow. Squirrelflight's Hope was amazing. In every single way. I'm glad they didn't erase Squirrelflight's personality like they did with Bramblestar in his super edition. She keeps being herself no matter how the cats around her decide to treat her and oh boy... Bramblestar is the biggest jerk in this book. BUT NOT ONLY THIS ONE. If you've read his super edition and past the 2nd Arc you'll know that he is nothing like the cat he used to be. He's an extremely abusive boyfriend and Squirrelflight has to put up with his trust issues throughout the whole book. I thought he moved past Squirrelflight's lie but he obviously didn't and he's been treating her like trash in the background while we read about other protagonists. They should break up. But I suppose the authors were keeping them together to develop the plot for the next arc, which I have yet to read. This reason doesn't excuse Bramblestar's behavior and I hope he gets a proper punishment in the next arc. As for Squirrelflight's other relationships... Her bond with her sister is carefully explored again in this book. I was glad to see them count on each other again, although I never doubted their bond. It was sad to read about Leafpool's death. I had kind of forgotten about her since she became a background character and her death broke me. It's good to know that her link with Squirrelflight will forever remain strong even after her death. I got confused towards the end of the book because the Erins yet again decided to change the personality of two cats... And the cats I'm going to mention are Crowfeather and Breezepelt. In Crowfeather's and Onestar's super edition they were completely different but oh, well, Breezepelt is going to be Breezepelt. Again, I hope he gets punished too for his behavior, it doesn't seem like he regrets anything by the way he acts in this book. In the end, it was depressing to see Squirrelflight doubt her worth and by the way she was treated by Bramblestar and the other warriors, I'm not surprised she felt like she belonged more among the sisters. The end was irritating to go through because why the hell did they decide that Bramblestar would apologize the last 2 pages of the book and that Squirrelflight would accept it after 400 pages of constant conflict and abuse. I'm glad we got Squirrelstar and that Bramblestar is no more, she deserves to be a leader after the way she's been treated in this book. That being said, I give it 5 stars because I love the way Squirrelflight was written, many dynamics were explored in this book and the Sisters were an interesting plot....more

I read the fi**spoiler alert** This book was hard to get through. It was released in September of last year and I took a whole 11 months to finish it. I read the first 10 chapters then dropped it, then I restarted again forcing myself to finish it. It took a while to read since it's a super edition and may I say... A really boring one. The first half is just a retelling of the DoTC lore. I needed some refreshing because it's been 2 years since I finished reading the 5th arc but for people who remember reading it, it's basically just a copy paste of the events adapted into Riverstar's perspective, I suppose. His "perspective" is simply watching things happen and while that's what happened in the books and the reason why he was so mysterious, the authors never make him fully reflect behind the scenes or have a personality. His personality is doing things the morally correct way and being a cat philosopher. His alleged superpower is meditating and I suppose he was "the stepping stone" for StarClan to reach the others but he never does anything much... There were some curious characters in this book, however. I can name two female cats. Night and Drizzle. Night in particular, has a very interesting character development in the book. She goes from a loner to almost a leader and unlike Riverstar she learns to gradually accept her destiny and well, sometimes she even questions it. Riverstar making "peace" and "kinship" RiverClan's values is interesting too, considering that the current RiverClan has very different values. I am disappointed by this Super Edition to say the least, but I don't think I'll ever read any warrior books as boring and as frustrating as the ones of the 6th arc, so I'm giving it what would be a 2,5 stars, so 3 stars....more

I can't help but feel like some events are rushed sometimes, especially at the end of the book. I feel like the novel would work better if it had another 50 pages. The other graphic novels have always felt like a fever dream to me. Novels in the WC series are created to fill gaps which I understand but, I hope this particular novel series keeps being published for at least the main Arcs, so people can absorb the warriors lore more easily and if they feel the need, read the books. I love the art style, my only issue is that it looks too cutesy sometimes and if I have to be honest reading the book felt way more serious. I wanted to buy the physical copy so I could introduce my boyfriend to the general lore but it sadly never arrived so I had to purchase the e-book and read it myself to avoid spoilers....more

Yes, the book is about Onestar, but it's also a retelling of the events that span from the 1st Arc to the half of the 6th Arc. I desperately needed a summary like this one. I've been reading warrior books for 5 years and it's kinda hard to remember everything and this book is great at summarizing all the key events, I'm not going to deny that. I know that some of the reviews say that the authors could have done a better job by focusing on the important events (like Tallstar's death) more by not adding so many time skips, but in my view that's not true. It's hard to explore and mention every single event that has happened in a span of 4 Arcs so I dont blame the authors for that. This book does a great job at retelling the whole story from Onestar's POV.
I found myself relating to Onestar, to his hypocrisy, to his need to victimize himself by lying, to his loneliness. I don't want to deny how I feel. I would have isolated myself too if I was in his place, if I was scared for my life. I won't however excuse the way he treated Smoke. He could have helped her instead of deciding "I don't care, I'm going with my clan and my new mate now." What better moment to invite Smoke into his clan than after the twolegs destroyed everything and the clans decided to start the journey? They were all united, nobody would have noticed or judged him. I'm pretty sure Tallstar would have been okay with it even after what happened with Brushpaw, knowing his friendliness towards kittypets like Jake. And he wasn't a leader yet, not even a deputy so why would he care so much about his reputation getting ruined? But no, Onestar was too focused on keeping his secret and feeling guilty instead of acting to fix his mistakes.
By the end of the book I started despising his character. I thought that he would give in and tell the truth but he never did. He should have gone to the dark forest. He never told the full truth, never told the clan leaders that before Darktail's official attack the rougues were well within his territory and were tormenting him and his cats. He died without telling the truth and he didn't feel pity once he entered Starclan. He didn't reflect on his actions. He was like "Oh well, I'm in Starclan now."
Onestar is a horrible character and that's why I love this book. I love the prospect of him being a villain, an abuser, an awful cat, because that's just what he is. I know that the intention of this book was to redeem him, but it never did. It made me hate him more. It made me hate him so much that I ended loving him and hating him again in the end. This is why I will rate this book with 5 stars....more

Half of it was a filler. Puddleshine's sickness and Juniperclaw's attempt to drive Skyclan away were interesting plot points... I feel like the side characters have more personality than the actual protagonists of this book. Ah yes... another storm, more traveling, another leader making stupid decisions... It's the same themes repeating for the 4th time in a row.
I'm glad to have finally finished reading the 6th Arc. Been reading through it for a year and a half and it's been quite boring. A Vision of Shadows is a poorly written Arc in my view. They should have stopped writing after Shattered Sky or change the protagonists for the next 3 books and introduce an entirely new plot, instead of repeating the same story and writing extremely boring chapters.
Terrible Arc, a must avoid at all costs if I plan on reading warriors again from the beginning. I'm pretty sure I'll forget about Violetshine and Twigbranch after a month of having finished....more

It's nice to see things from Tawnypelt's perspective. It's sad to see what this cat has gone through... Her son drowned under ice, her daughter was killed by Darktail and her lover was brutally murdered in front of her eyes. Shadowclan has made her suffer so much, first when her father became leader, second when Sol tricked Blackstar, third when her clan decided to go against Rowanstar and yet here she is, showing her loyalty to her clan.
I understand her doubts and the need to leave Clan territory. I would feel like a complete stranger among these cats. I hate how Tawny has to just accept her fate and "adjust" to the new shadowclan... I recently finished the 5th book of the 6th Arc so I have no idea how good Tigerstar is as a leader but I would have loved seeing Tawnypelt become a leader and build her clan the way she wanted to....more

Way better than Darkest Night. That book took me forever to read. Most of the chapters are still fillers and if they're not, they're simply weird and go at a very quick pace.
Alderheart falling for a kittypet so fast and without a really good reason other than she's a "beautiful and kind" she-cat? Seems like he has inherited something from his father...
I miss what Thunderclan used to be. Why do they casually let kittypets enter and leave their clan? I feel like this is all Bramblestar's fault, he's a horrible leader and an awfully boring one.
Rowanstar's death was interesting. Never expected the bully kittypets (Jacques and Susan) to be back again. I feel like all of this could have been avoided though. Tree was an idiot to think Leafstar should have trusted Sleekwhisker.
I hate how everyone keeps bossing Leafstar around. I feel like all would be better if Shadowclan was banished and forced to temporarily live out of the lake territories but not too far away-always near so they could come back once Tigerheart returned.
Leafstar is right to be furious. If I was her I'd have declared war against Shadowclan and obliterate everything they had left until they learned that they shouldn't welcome traitors back in their clan.
Also Mistystar is old and out of her mind. Kill her!!! Riverclan are such pu$$ies for wanting contact again with the other Clans when their camp got destroyed again. DESERVED!!!...more

I don't get the 3 and below star reviews. This book felt like a filler too, I understand. Tigerheart had to journey, meet strange cats, blah blah. But there is some actual conflict here. Tigerheart finds it really hard to chose between Dovewing and his clan. We finally get to see things from his perspective. It's agonizing for him having to decide and what does he do? He abandons his clan, following his heart. It might seem as a selfish decision at first but it leads him back to his clanmates in the end....more

This book made me lose interest on the series and I had to force myself to read through it. The only interesting part about this book is Dovewing and Tigerheart's relationship. This book is mostly a filler. It's so chaotic. I feel like some characters like Tree needed more development. I've read his novella but still, I hate how nonchalant he is. He joins a clan just because a ghost cat who used to be a 'friend' of his tells him to. I absolutely love reading the WC graphic novels because of the amazing style and illustrations but this one didn't have an interesting plot. They took so long to find out who the thief was and he ended being an owl. A frigging OWL! A Shadow in Riverclan, Winds of Change and Exile from Shadowclan all were interesting to read and helped fill some plot holes. What did this book do? Illustrate another typical day in Thunderclan. It felt like reading some filler chapter. We already have a super edition about Bramblestar but I wish the story was told from his POV. I know he had some difficulties proving everyone that he wasn't like his father but I want to know what he went through as a kit and as a paw. I lost interest during the first half and regaining the energy to finish it wasn't easy. I like the plot but sometimes it got really confusing. Some things were really rushed especially during the other half. Twigpaw's journey for example. They could have described it in more detail and not have made it so easy for her to convince Skyclan to follow her lead. Onestar's confession and Darktail's last battle felt rushed too. This book was already spoiled to me so maybe I didn't enjoy it that much for that reason. I'm not sure what to expect in the 4th book....more
