Make Me Fall is still one of my all time favourite comfort reads. Jonah is an angel and should be protected at all costs. Age gap is usually one of my least favourite tropes but in this book it's done perfectly. I listed on audible this time and the narration is decent. Now I need to go read the little novella that came after because I can never get enough Jonah and Gray. ...more

Whilst I’ve enjoyed other books by this author, none have hit me quite like this one. To catch a firefly really showcases this author writing to their strengths and also how much you could just feel the love, care and attention that went into the story.
Emmy Sanders knows how to write pining and she does it well. My stomach hurt for the first half of the book and as frustrating as it could be at times, it was all so real and human.
This story is a great example of the kind of love that makes you want to set someone free, watch them become who they need to be, even if it means you get a bit left behind. So many romance books are about coveting a person and keeping them close, but this is really a story about loving someone through distance, through differences in communication and loving someone for exactly who they are with no desire to change and mould them into someone else.
The autism rep in this book was beautiful. Ellis’ selective mutism never felt like a gimmick for the story and I loved how he was accepted by his loved ones and had a job and a life without it being something that needed to be fixed.
Everything in this book was just so authentic, from the stunning and vivid settings to a great cast of unique characters. Also, the attention to detail in this story was exceptional, the scenes during Lucky’s travels and Ellis’ glassblowing really blew me away. The last 20% of this book was so heartfelt that I cried 3 times. Actual tears.
Spent the whole day in my feels after finishing this. Highly recommend it....more

I struggled with the first 20%. It was heavy on the inner monologue and there was so much telling over showing that it took me a while to get into it.
My other main issue with this story was Tristan. I felt like he flip flopped between being the more serious character we met in book 1 to being a sort of ‘sunshine twink’ and it just often felt like he didn’t totally make sense as a person although he was pretty funny and I liked him a lot by the end.
The story really picked up for me as it went on. I loved Ford, him and Tristan had great chemistry. Learning both of their back stories was sad but also helped you understand why they clicked.
Cade and Silas were excellent side characters. I don’t know if there’s a plan to continue Ford and Tristan’s story but elements of the plot definitely felt like it could be carried on even if we got a satisfying hea for the couple.

I devoured this book in two days. I’m actually really surprised that this is a debut novel because the writing is brilliant and has a maturity that I wasn’t anticipating. It tackles some really have stuff so do check the content warnings but they were tackled with so much sensitivity and thoughtfulness.
It’s unusual that I love both MC’s equally but honestly I could not pick a favourite.
Silas was giving me some very relatable undiagnosed autism and him learning to be tactile and affectionate was so wholesome and cute. I wanted to wrap him up in a blanket and protect him forever.
Cade was a loveable whirlwind. He had the kindest heart and there were parts of the book where he made me laugh out loud.
For me, this book was a perfect combination of humour, sweet, smutty, wholesome and drama that I didn’t want it to end.
Gaaah. Loved it. Can already tell this is going to be a hit when it’s released....more

This book has everything I should love, but didn’t.
Crow was reasonably well fleshed out as a character but his mutism written in a way that felt extremely unrealistic. He hadn’t spoken to anyone in over a decade but suddenly is able to speak to Cyrus when it was convenient?
Cyrus was a very un-fleshed out character. We get told he’s a drug addict but we don’t delve into that at any point. His character felt extremely inconsistent throughout making you feel like you never really got to know of understand him.
One of the reasons I was looking forward to reading this is because I’m fascinated by cults. It became evident quite quickly that the author hadn’t done much research around cults and didn’t understand them very well so that was disappointing.
My main issue with this book, I don’t think there was a single bit of dialogue in the entire story that felt natural. It was all so stilted and bizarre I found myself grimacing whenever they spoke.
This book was a bit disappointing and I’d been looking forward to it ever since I read Unwanted.
For me, considering Lennox was suddenly experiencing This book was a bit disappointing and I’d been looking forward to it ever since I read Unwanted.
For me, considering Lennox was suddenly experiencing being deaf and what a huge life altering thing that is, this book felt like it focused way more on Rhyes and his struggles with addiction.
Honestly I actually felt like this book would have been better without Rhyes. I would have liked to have seen more of Lennox and Samuel navigating a new life, learning to sign and communicate and tackling the hurdles that come with that. I didn’t feel like Rhyes really added to their story and his stuff completely overshadowed Lennox and Samuel.
I also was a bit over the Mississippi malarkey. I love this Author’s writing usually and whilst I enjoyed bits of this book it was just missing the depth that you usually get from her stories. I think there were possibly too many issues to delve into all of them properly. ...more

But also there are so many accents in this book, there any many people who could pull them all off. I love Cam, Alexei and Saint as much as ever.
This book was paced really well and it has a really strong plot with great complex characters.
I really enjoyed it and will definitely be reading the next one. My only gripe is that I found myself feeling as though I was told they loved each other rather than seeing them fall for each other. The time they actually spent together was very fleeting on page and I would have liked to have been shown more of how that developed....more

This book was quite meh for me. I felt like the other books built up the whole Lucien and Cam thing and then this book was very much focussed on Noa and KC.
I liked Noa in his dynamic with Cam and then we just sort of lost their relationship when they got involved with Lucien and KC. I just wasn’t a big fan of KC, he wasn’t a very interesting character imo.

This was a difficult read for me. Being autistic and having experienced a severe depressive episode made some of this a bit too relatable.
Beautifully written, clearly well researched. I liked that Emmett’s autism wasn’t made super palatable for the sake of a romance.
