Into the Fog is Driving through fog transports Heidi to a place called Ghost Town. Can she escape to find her way home or will she disappear forever? Into the Fog is an eerie thriller I couldn’t stop reading. The narration is reason enough to read this book. The world-building is exceptional. The characters, mainly Heidi, are realistic and bring the story to life. When I say Into the Fog is an unputdownable read that’ll make shivers run down your spine, I speak from experience.
Let’s start with the narration and POV. The narration is very detailed with deep POV. Essentially, the narration is from Heidi’s viewpoint and everything she sees and experiences is revealed to the reader. This is very effective because it allows the reader a narrow view of the story. The foreshadowing, twists, and emotion all stem from the narration. Brilliant, as always, from Michelle Godard-Richer.
The world-building is flawless. The whole premise of the fog and Ghost Town is crafted and executed through classic world-building techniques.
The writing is once again proof why I love this author. She’s got a gift for writing thrillers. She writes with an expert pen and has quietly become one of my favourite thriller authors. I look forward to reading more from her.
If you’re looking for an original isolation thriller, look no further than Into the Fog.

Remnants of Fire isn’t your typical paranormal novel. And that’s a good thing.
It starts out unassuming enough. Sara Woods, recently divorced, takes a reporting position at a newspaper in a small town in western Ohio. She immediately begins to investigate a string of dead women—all too young to die. They only have one thing in common. They were all clients of a New Age health institute, Goldstone Clinic.
Sara initially visits the clinic for her back pain. Her intuition tells her something’s not right there. With the help of an all-too-handsome doctor at the local hospital, she’s determined to discover what role the clinic plays in the mysterious deaths.
Then the story takes a veer in a direction I didn’t see coming. It’s a fascinating twist that literally had me on the edge of my seat as I read it.
I was pulled into the story from the first chapter, thanks to the author’s impeccable sense of storytelling. Told in the first person, we tag along with Sara in the opening scene where she views a dead body and its inexplicable location and situation. The first-person point of view works well, as we know only what Sara does—and it’s typically too little, too late. That naturally amps up the drama.
Alana Lorens tells a compelling, spellbinding story. She slowly and patiently gives us clues to what’s next and builds suspense expertly. The ultimate reveal of the truth is nothing less than stunning as she eventually shows us what really is happening at the Goldstone Clinic. But not without having us biting our nails about the safety of our intrepid heroine.
Remnants of Fire is a paranormal novel in a category all its own. And it’s left me wanting more.

I was glued to my KinCrystal Moth Conspiracy by Konn Lavery is the first book in the Ash Born series. I absolutely loved this paranormal page-turner. I was glued to my Kindle because I had to know what happened next to the colorful cast of characters. Reading this book is like binging Narcos on Netflix, mixed with the vibes of The 5th Element movie and dusted with paranormal creatures. There is something to love for everyone.
The construction of this book is a three-thread plot with three distinct heroes, separated into acts (designated with foreshadowing artwork.) One of the underlying themes of this book is the disparagement between what happens and what the public is led to believe, which is masterfully shown by the television broadcast’s slant of the events at the start of each act. The way the three threads are woven together into the ‘big showdown’ at the end is unpredictable and a delight for those who love action flicks or thrillers.
We are first introduced to Lola Cabello, the journalism student and our heroine. She’s a plucky upstart like most females in film noir movies of the 1950s but then she witnesses a drug distribution gone bad within the sewer system. Lola’s life has fallen apart, so she lives to avenge her mother, best friend, and mentor. What happened to them and Lola’s journey from good girl to vigilante is slowly revealed as we navigate the world of drugs, gangs, and paranormal politics. I must warn readers that she does take the Ash drug and struggles with addiction, side effects, and withdrawal symptoms within the book. Despite this, I loved Lola’s dedication to finding an honorable way to bring down the drug cartel and her realistic choices. She doesn’t become a superhuman overnight but relies on snippets of help and luck to survive.
Our second hero was my favorite character in the book, Detective Iglesias. I loved his interactions with the rest of the police force, his snarky banter with his partner, and the loving way he parents his son. The single dad is trying his best to juggle taking down the biggest drug ring in Canada with raising a teenager. His commentary on becoming an empty nester, regretting the fallout of his marriage, and how fast his son grew up broke my heart. He’s the kind of cop who does his job to make the world a better place—not just for the thrill of the chase.
Our final hero doesn’t show she’s a hero until the very end of the book. Scalebane is as mysterious as the mask she wears. She gives us a look into the production of Ash and its paranormal origins. I loved how we see the inside of the drug cartel as it is dismantled by our heroes. Her chapters are filled with lore, paranormal politics, and magic. I loved this twist and meeting the creatures who live among us. What Scalebane is and how she is related to the rest of the characters is the best plot twist, so I will leave it to the readers to discover.
Overall, I absolutely loved Crystal Moth Conspiracy and highly recommend it to lovers of police procedurals, urban fantasy, or thrillers. This book can be enjoyed by everyone without triggers to blood, violence, drug addiction, or mild sexual content with paranormal beings.

EachGet ready for some spine-tingling reads in this romantic horror anthology. Is romantic horror a genre yet? If not, Tamela Miles just invented it. Each of these short stories is a delicious blend of horror and paranormal romance. Each story is a complete tale with a tight cast of characters and a spooky plot. You’ll swoon as you scream in terror.
The Swinging Tree is such a well written story. The ghostly haunting is creepy and sent chills down my spine. The characters are realistic and relatable.
Hands Clean is one of those tales that’ll stick with you. Very well written with a plot most everyone will relate to. Quick reading as I couldn’t put it down.
Be Home by Sunrise is a vampire romance with a twist. I connected with Tiffany right away. There’s a morality vibe to this spooky tale that I found refreshing.
Witch Bitch is a magical tale you won’t soon forget. I got goosebumps while reading. I connected with the characters, especially Mason.
Paper Dolls is one of those stories that will fill your heart with terror. In Sin City, this tale oozes horror of the worst kind. Such brilliant writing in a short story is difficult to pull off but Tamela Miles pulls out all the stops.

This book takes hold of a reader and doesn't let go. The subtle shifting of time by using clearly defined chapters with titles is brilliantly done.
There are several main characters in this first book of a gripping series. Drake is one of the main while Emery is graced with the other POV. Nonstop action that is edge of your seat exciting. If you do have a weak stomach, you may want to take it easy on some of the action scenes. Realism with a capital R is the raison d'etre of this work.
Fans of Dan Brown will certainly want to get into this series on book one. Epic in style and premise, this book doesn't disappoint. Once you have finished book one, you will be desperate to get your hands on the second book. A spectacular start to what should be an award-winning series.

Never in my life have I read such an addictive read. This book reels you in with its descriptive narration, exquisite world-building, historical accuracy, and more. It’s a time travel adventure seeped in history, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
As someone who wrote her master’s thesis on the Salem Witch Trials, I was quite impressed with how accurate this story was. Very comprehensive narration makes this book historically accurate down to minute detail. I found myself jumping feet-first into the adventure.
The characters are well written and full of personality. Both Summer and Sydney are strong-willed, independent heroines. I enjoy seeing history play out in front of them. They are the heart of this story.
The plot moves quickly and the suspenseful moments will have you reading late into the night. A great adventure awaits you in this book.

But can he pull it off, especially when the woman he loves is in the clutches of his nemesis?
The Swords of Blood and Gold is a treasure-hunting edge-of-your-seat supernatural thriller, unlike anything I’ve read before. This book has everything you want in a thriller: a gruesome murder, a hero frame-up, a quest to uncover the truth, a believable premise, treasure hunting, nonstop action, and an exhilarating conclusion. Add in a supernatural/magical realism subplot and you’ve got an unputdownable read. Confession time: I love anything to do with treasure hunting or looking for treasure or treasure maps. It stems from my childhood days. Jon is a smart treasure hunter who can sniff out treasure fact from fiction. Pairing him with a no-nonsense woman who’s knowledgeable about the salvage business is brilliant. The plot is brilliantly conceived and well-executed. The writing takes the reader deep into the story with descriptive narration and precise pacing. A thriller not to be missed, The Swords of Blood and Gold should be read by the masses. I can’t wait to read more by this debut author. Highly recommend!

The Girl Who Knew Death is a paranormal thriller I read in one day. From the first page to the last, I was hooked. The premise for The Girl Who Knew Death is a unique one and it captivated my imagination. In this installment, Faydra and Kat battle an unlikely enemy with paranormal powers. The character of Death enrobed in a human body was brilliantly portrayed. The plot moved at an excellent pace with plenty of surprising moments. The characters are well-drawn with interesting dynamics as they interact with each other. The suspense surrounding Kat and Faydra ratcheted up my pulse through intricate action scenes and world-building. This is Norm Harris’ first foray into paranormal and the writing was exemplary. Through his gift for writing thrillers, he builds layer upon layer and the result is an unputdownable, addictive paranormal thriller. If you’re a paranormal reader, you’ll want to read The Girl Who Knew Death. Brilliantly written, The Girl Who Knew Death has everything you want in a paranormal thriller. As Trevor slips into madness thanks to a Welch family curse, she discovers her witch powers. Can she use magic to save her husband from death? It may be Trevor’s inheritance, but Caitlin will use every power at her disposal to bring him back to her.
The Artist’s Inheritance is an eerie paranormal from start to finish. With equal parts haunting, possession, relationships, and magical realism, Juli D. Revezzo weaves a stunning masterpiece for paranormal lovers. Using descriptive narration, the reader can’t help but feel a part of the story. The POV is all Caitlin but that adds to the suspense of the overall plot. You feel every emotion she feels, from anxiety to confusion to panic to even claustrophobia, which added another layer to the story. The plot itself starts out slow but picks up speed as you continue reading. The characters are realistic and relatable. I’m not sure what I’d do in Caitlin’s place but after reading, I was an emotional wreck. The paranormal scenes are well done with plenty of spookiness to cause shivers to slide up your spine. The Artist’s Inheritance is a brilliant paranormal and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend!
Bloodthirsty rogue vampires kidnap the only woman Hunter has ever loved so he must choose between taking down his former master and losing his belovedBloodthirsty rogue vampires kidnap the only woman Hunter has ever loved so he must choose between taking down his former master and losing his beloved. Centuries-old vampire Hunter Pierce doesn't believe in love and prefers to spend his time alone. When he meets pathologist Tori Roberts at a wedding, something about her melancholy disposition intrigues him. He reveals he's a vampire, yet she doesn't shy away. He takes a chance and goes after her, which leads to disastrous events neither Hunter nor Tori can forget. With rogue vampires wreaking havoc on both vampires and humans, Hunter asks for Tori's help in creating a cure for Nirvana, which causes the rogue vampires to kill at random. She agrees but neither Hunter nor Tori are prepared for what happens next. A kidnapping, a deadly confrontation, and the realization that love is stronger than immortality.
Honorable Rogue is a paranormal romantic thriller I couldn't put down. I love a dark vampire tale with a huge dash of romance and suspense thrown in. Honorable Rogue is that and so much more. I connected with Hunter right away as well as Tori. Their fragility, while not apparent right away, had my heart breaking for them. Yes, a vampire can be fragile, especially when it has lived a life similar to Hunter's. The plot moved at a great pace with action, intrigue, romance, suspense, politics, and an ending I didn't see coming. The vampire politics were fascinating and added to the intricate world-building. This is my first time reading a book by Linda J. Parisi and I'm impressed. Her descriptive narration plunged me into the story while the added emotional tension had me whipping through the pages. If you like your vampires dark and brooding with intense action, pick up Honorable Rogue. If you're a paranormal romance reader, you're going to love Honorable Rogue. I can't wait to see what happens next. Highly recommend!

This book starts out with a fantastic intro that initially gripped me tightlySometimes a reader has a hard time getting a hold of the plot of a book. This book starts out with a fantastic intro that initially gripped me tightly. I was only through the prologue when I thought I loved this book. Then, as the book went on, it became very hard to grasp what was going on. Just when I thought I had an understanding of who Alice was, it slipped out of my grasp.
Readers who want to be carried through the journey without really knowing where it is going will love this book. The author created twists and turns that will keep the most inquisitive reader guessing. There is a segment nearer towards the end where there is a certain explanation of what the book is about. That might have worked better if it was much earlier in the book. Well written and gripping, Grasp of the Night really grabs a reader in its grasp. I was only a couple of days into reading this and I started dreaming about the book. It really resonates in a reader's mind.
Fans of the movies with Freddie of nightmares and of movies where a destination is final will love this book. Fans of intense paranormal books that are more involved than the typical work will love this book. I recommend this book to people who want a good scare.

Julie has been faced with a lifetime of horror. This has included: physical ailments, vile disgusting abuse at the hands of alleged nuns who doubtlessly would be burning in hell for all eternity if they were not fictional, depraved appalling abuse at the hands of an alleged mother who also will be on an express train to hell. Add to that the ability to see spirits and demonic activities and Julie could use a break.
Haunted: A Paranormal Awakening illustrates beautifully that when push comes to shove, you have the power to help yourself. Only when we find the inner strength can we overcome seemingly impossible challenges. Julie, of course, had the trauma of a physically abusive first husband. She adds to that the trauma of a mentally abusive man who needs to be divorced first and ask questions later, as a second husband. That is the true exorcism she needs - to exorcise her alleged husband, Jeff, and her alleged mom out of her life forever.
The frights and scares that come fast and furious will keep the avid paranormal reader glued to Haunted: A Paranormal Awakening. The action is non-stop and keep the reader wondering how Julie can deal with the onslaught. A very well written paranormal book that will engage every fan of ghost and paranormal writing.
I can recommend this to anyone who isn't scared of a scary book but again, do not read this at night!

She and her boyfriend, Mike,Astrid’s mother, Ophelia, has vanished into thin air, which normally isn’t a big feat for a vampire but Astrid’s worried. She and her boyfriend, Mike, pick up the scent and leave sunny San Francisco for gloomy Transylvania. Astrid meets family members and relatives who warn her to turn around and go back home but she ignores them all. What do they know? She’s reckless and as a result, puts Mike’s life and others she cares about in danger. Greed, wealth, and power are at risk and those in charge don’t want to relinquish anything to a half-human, half-vampire girl. The only thing Astrid knows for sure is she must stop the king at the familial castle before he makes sure no human will ever see another sunny day.
Another Sunny Day is an edge of your seat vampire thriller. From the beginning, there’s an understated grittiness woven throughout the story, which was absent from the first book, Fifty Percent Vampire. Astrid’s growth from teen to a woman is impressive yet 100% believable. She learns some hard lessons which made for an exciting read. The plot moves at a good pace overall with plenty of suspense to keep you entertained. The plot twists surprised me, and I honestly didn’t see them coming. The action scenes captured my attention and I whipped through the pages so I could see what happened next. Who needs sleep when there’s more reading to do? I thoroughly enjoyed this sequel and actually prefer it to book one. If you’re like me and like your vampire stories dark and edgy, you’ll love Another Sunny Day. I look forward to reading more from D.K. Janotta. Highly recommend!
