A Wish for Us is a stand-alone contemporary romance about love, loss, and music. Set in the deep south on a bustling college campus, two musicians find healing and love in each other.

"There's not a part that I regret."
Cromwell Dean is a gifted composer, musician, and DJ. After years of escaping the demons of his past, Cromwell is thrust into the dark and light colors of music once again. When he is partnered up with Bonnie Farraday, a flourishing composer and performer, Cromwell's entire world is rocked. As Bonnie and Cromwell work together to create a perfect composition, both are forced to explore the brokenness that exists in their lives. The physical and emotional trials are insurmountable as both struggle to survive. Through their journey, they find healing and a chance to "chase the music from dawn until dust" forever.

"It was perfect. He was perfect. Like this, life was perfect."
Told in dual POV, A Wish for Us is a heartbreaking story full of complex characters and a rich plot. When secrets from their past (and present) are revealed, the pain experienced is raw and cuts like a knife. The dynamics between the characters plays out like a rich symphony. The text is lyrical and set at a driving tempo as each moment unfolds. Cromwell is a very damaged hero and when he is paired with Bonnie, together they make perfect harmony.

Overall, I highly recommend A Wish for Us to readers who enjoy a tender romance full of healing and loss. Tillie Cole is a master storyteller. With her rich text, complex characters, and intricate plots, Ms. Cole's work never fails to amaze me.

"I was going to die, here, tonight, in the Drop Stop in my fucking pajamas. This was it."
Edie is a teenager stocking up goodies at the local convenience store for a fun filled night with her best friend when in just a single moment, her life is changed forever. The store is overtaken by a robber and tragedy strikes. Throughout the chaos of the moment, Edie is saved by a troubled team named John. When the sounds of sirens and the blood are cleared away, Edie and John are left broken.
"It's okay to be afraid, Edie. You just can't let it stop you from doing anything."
John has a reputation for dealing drugs and raising hell in his school. When Edie transfers from her posh private school to the local high school, she runs into her savior John. Even though the horrors of the robbery have passed, John feels the need to protect her again. This time protection means keeping her far away from him. And yet, despite his best efforts, John and Edie can't seem to stay away from each other. After surviving such a horrific event, they are drawn to each other. Edie struggles with a low self-esteem and abandonment issues, and now she has post traumatic stress disorder. John is trying desperately to break away from his tainted past and start again. As they find peace in together, friendship blossoms and eventually transforms into something so much more.
"I couldn't get close enough, no matter how I tried. Eyes hazy and lips wet, he kissed me slow and sweet. It seemed endless, as necessary to life as breathing."
Told in Edie's POV, Trust is a beautiful young romance with action and light steam. I found the relationship between Edie and John to be raw and full of inspiration. The evolution of their romance is slowly explored as both are learning and growing together. The secondary characters enhance the plot as they offer support to John and Edie. The stakes are high for both of them to overcome their past, their differences, and find happiness together.
Overall, Trust is an absolute must read for YA Romance fans. I have long been a fan of Ms. Scott's work, and John and Edie are quite a beautiful pair. If you are looking for a beautiful friends to lovers romance who overcome tragedy together, then this is the summer read for you!

The Corridor is a fast paced Sci-Fi YA novel. The concept behind the novel is fresh and the writing was rich with description.
Stel lives in a dystopian society at in the future. In her world exists a “corridor” or gateway to other worlds. The corridor has been found to be unstable. Stel’s dad has been a huge contributor to helping her world find success through scientific advancement. However, recently he was torn from his position by none other then a close family friend (who coincidentally is also her best friend’s mother).
Justin, Stel’s brother, is currently working as a guard in the regime. Although he loves his father and sister, clearly he is loyal to the government and wants to support their mission.
Stel discovers that she has special gifts and she herself is in fact able to create a “corridor” to other worlds. Through this discovery she meets Cohl a human that lives in another world.
"Then I noticed my hands. A pale blue circle of light glowed inside each one of my palms."

Overall, The Corridor was an enjoyable read. As with most "first books" in a series, there was quite a bit of information to cover. At times, I would need to “re-read” sections in order to decipher all of the information. However, the characters are extremely likable and the young romance budding between Stel and Cohl is very endearing. There was a great deal of action in this book which kept the tempo paced at a comfortable rate. I will definitely be on the lookout for the next book in this series.

Refugee is the third book in the Captive Series. Aria and Braith are together but no one can know. They are wandering the lands looking for allies to join the fight. The book starts off with a bang with Aria having a secret meeting and making a promise. It is a promise that will rip Braith apart. Although she thinks she is doing the right thing, just the thought of it is painful.
Braith and Aria are growing closer together. The blood link they share continues grow stronger every day! The tenderness between the two will leave you breathless!
"All she could feel was him, all she could smell was him. He was inside her soul, so much a part of her. She could barely breathe as his hands slid away from her face. His arms wrapped around her waist as he lifted her, pressing her back against a wall. His body was hard against hers, impassioned beneath her hands."
Although Aria and Braith haven't made the ultimate connection "intimately speaking", together they are passionate. He will do anything to keep her safe.
As they make their way to the rebel camp, Braith's plan is simple. He wants to join the forces (rebel humans and "human friendly" vampires), win the battle against his father and then hand the kingdom over to the council. He just wants to take Aria away. So that they can be safe and happy together! Aria knows in her heart that is not is what is going to happen.
While the action is building, the relationship between the two continues to develop. Braith struggles with the wrong choices that he has made. Aria continues to offer him unconditional love and forgiveness.
"Love isn't about perfection Braith! It's about understanding and forgiveness, it's about giving and taking in equal measure."-Aria
I found the most tender part of this book is when Braith begins to draw closer to Aria's family. He is so protective of her he doesn't want anyone else to touch her. The humor offers a much needed release from all of the tension in the story.
"Who the hell do you think you are!?" David demanded. "Hers."
Aria is convinced that Braith is meant to be King. She knows that he is the only one that can lead both humans and vampires to battle. She continues to offer Braith support all the while knowing what is to come!
"He was pretty sure he could do just about anything if she was standing at his side."-Braith
Overall, The Refugee is a stellar read. It has tenderness, romance, action, and many plot twists along the way. This book leaves you hanging. But one thing is for certain, Braith will never let Aria go!
