Could not have been more pleased. Haven’t enjoyed a romantic time travel paradox or whatever more than I have this one in a while. Writing is real and deals with tedium of everyday life with a quirky humor that’s fresh air to a starved soul. Enjoyed it and plan to follow this read with whatever is available. ...more

Better the first than the last. Interesting follow-up to the first volume continuing rebuilding the early Roman Republic in reverse from England toward Italy. Didn’t seem as fluid as the first book. Minor typos throughout that we’re not distracting. Palace and romantic intrigue somewhat suddenly dropped to advance the storyline of conquest that felt disjointed leaving the ending rushed to set up the next installment. Overall, as I enjoy this type of time travel historical revision novel, I can’t complain and enjoyed the boot looking forward to the next. ...more

A bit more background on the “Goodmen” would have enriched the novel...at least for me. Overall, I was quite pleased with the reading and the fact,in this age of serialization, it was a novel with both a beginning and an ending. I look forward to future works from the author. ...more

As I've had the pleasure to experience in a while. I'm not one to harbor on editing as, unless it renders the book comprehensible, we have the mental capacity to understand the writers intent....especially a talented one as this. That particular burr from under my saddle let me say "No problem with editing No problem with character development. Yes to a great storyline filled with memorable characters...etc..etc" I hated to see an end but happy also that monetary enticement didn't drag it into serial mediocrity. Can't say enough and, as I seldom leave but a line or two review, end your misery of reading my review by simply asking all to "Get off your duffs and go buy or download the book. It does not disappoint." End of quote and or whatever. ...more

It has been quite a while since I've enjoyed reading new science fiction as I have these I grew up reading Heinlein, Asimov, Bradbury On occasion I would run across an author that piqued my interest as much as they; but, upon pursuing their works would always feel they would loose the thread to words I was seeking. In all my years, I haven't come across a new author seemly as polished and talented enough to foster hope that a great new voice will be heard. Damn, I do hope it's true. ...more

All good vibes from the book with no skunk weed needed. Action packed, familiar storyline with a mild twist, realist in the portrayal of Air Force protocols......now I'm referencing 70's early 80's. Aw, just read the book. It's a light, fun read with adequate mayhem. Who could ask for anything more. Oh...and...for those with syntax and grammar issues its been edited well. But if you read slow you may find something to "write" about. See another reason to read the book. ...more

Enjoyable for upper YA to my OA (my age as in old adult). I'd read the first a year or so back as the title was hard to pass up. Nothing really surprising or convoluted in the storyline. Just a enjoyable scifi with well developed characters that you quickly feel an attachment. The lack of peppers, special ops, etc is a relief. Throughout my military career I've met few that brave comparison to their novelized counterparts. I think the best portrayal was "One Second After". . Well, strayed again from a endorsement of "....Crusoe....." to my mind's meanderings. Stay the course with Crusoe and you'll not be disappointed. ...more
