**spoiler alert** Lyrical is a Leannan Sidhe and a royal princess to boot when she was kidnapped and taken from her family by the King of the Kelpies **spoiler alert** Lyrical is a Leannan Sidhe and a royal princess to boot when she was kidnapped and taken from her family by the King of the Kelpies for two long years. When her mother begged Morgana, goddess of Sea and the Fae to help me but when they got her back, they rejected her causing the wrath of the Goddess Morgana. What happens when a princess with no kingdom is thrust into a world where she has no idea how to survive? Get ready for a wild adventure as Lyrical is drawn into the newly formed Wild Hunt agency and finds purpose and new friends to help her acclimate to the human world. As danger mounts, the world finds itself on tenterhooks as the dragons find their last defense is stripped from them. Now the games begin and as Lyrical finds herself again, get ready for all hell is about to get loose.
On my, TATTERED THORNS is one wild ride from start to finish. With an amazing cast of new and old characters to fall in love with, twists abound in a fast-paced storyline that had me on the edge of my seat till the very end. Ms. Galenorn is master at weaving a complex cast of characters, all with their own personalities and quirks within a story as well as creating a lush and complex background that draws the reader in. With this new addition of Lyrical, a Leannan Sidhe princess kidnapped, rescued then rejected by her family, we find a new character that will stir your compassion and root for her to succeed.
Meet Lyrical, a Leannan Sidhe princess, who had no idea what was going on in the outside human world when she was kidnapped by the Kelpie King and held hostage for two long years. Rescued by the goddess Morgana and rejected by her family, Morgana put her under her wing and helped her have purpose again with the newly formed Wild Hunt Agency. Now with new friends and trying to come to gripes with her captivity, she has to draw on that inner strength and find herself once again. I really enjoyed meeting and getting to know Lyrical in TATTERED THORNS. The author does an amazing job in capturing her strength, her defeat and more while going through the storyline. I was really rooting for her to succeed and let these wonderful new people into her life. I can say what little of her captivity that was mentioned was a little uncomfortable to read about, but it gives the reader a sense of how Lyrical succeeded in surviving her trials and more. This author has an innate way of finding her characters most vulnerabilities and secrets and letting the reader in by bits and pieces over the course o the story. We get an update on some returning characters from the original Wild Hunt books which had me giggling and happy plus a few twists left me on the edge of my seat as Lyrical and the gang discovered their first job together is more dangerous than ever. These characters are complex, unique in personalities and quirks and I, for one, loved every minute of it.
TATTERED THORNS delivers a wild ride right off the bat ad this is an author who is a master at story pacing, keeping a few twists as surprises and creating characters that just fly off the pages and into your life. If you enjoy a high-octane adventure filled with unique and complex characters that you can not help but fall in love with, then I highly recommend TATTERED THORNS and the best part is you don’t have to read the original Wild Hunt series either though I also recommend that series to get the whole story of how some of the familiar characters came together. I know I am not the only one when I say I need more in this series and can not wait for book two.

It’s Herne and Ember’s wedding and as they make their place in Annwn and Ember is learning what it takes to be a goddess. But life is in flux for the It’s Herne and Ember’s wedding and as they make their place in Annwn and Ember is learning what it takes to be a goddess. But life is in flux for the Wild Hunt gang as well as Ember and Herne. Happily Ever After isn’t as easy as you think when you become a goddess and life as you knew it ends up totally different.
ANTLERED CROWN is a wonderful swan song to this portion of the Wild Hunt Story Arc and I was thrilled to see how Ember and the rest of the gang dealt with the blows after the Father and Mother of all dragons fought. With Ember learning to be a goddess as well as trying to settle in Herne’s world on Annwn, life has changed for many of them and happily ever after can mean so many different things to many people.
With Ms. Galenorn’s trademark storytelling, the reader delves into the world of the Wild Hunt and finds themselves transported to Annwn and what happens next for everyone. Even though this story in the series is a novella and shorter than the other Wild Hunt books, it packs a lot into it and I was excited to see how Ember navigated being a goddess and what it all entailed. The story picks up weeks away from Ember and Herne’s wedding and that was just as wonderful to beheld. Lots of heat and romance between Herne and Ember but we also got to meet many new faces that will play in the spin-off series, The Hedge Dragons and Night Queen respectively. The story is fast paced but includes lots of the characters you have grown to love in the series, and we get updates about Kipa and Raven as well as what is coming for the Wild Hunt agency itself. I loved how the author tied up all the loose ends and revealed a little of where she is going in the spin-off series. I can’t wait to see where those go and we will still see our favorite Wild Hunt characters but as secondary characters instead of the main players. The writing flows swiftly and the weaves a spell around you as you navigate the world of gods and goddesses with Ember, and I know I am not the only one to say more please to Ms. Galenorn.
ANTLERED CROWN delivers a fast-paced ride from start to finish and I look forward to seeing where the author goes next. If you enjoy the paranormal and urban fantasy stories, this series is for you though I highly recommend reading from the beginning of the series all the way to ANTLERED CROWN and be ready to fall in love with a cast of characters that will leave you breathless.

As the Winter Solstice arrives, she finds out she must report to the Queen of the Ante-Fae and in turn finds out just how far some will go to use her as an example against the Ante-Fae who are friendly with humans. Given the choice of choosing her people over her friends, Raven is in the crosshairs of a Queen and court who force her into a corner. Add to that her father and grandfather giving her an ultimatum, well let’s just say Raven is really hoping something else doesn’t give in her life. She is also challenged with a case from her friend Vixen, a gender fluid Ante-Fae who asks for Raven’s help when one of their employees is taken over by an astral being. Raven is being pulled to all sides and unless she can figure a way to overcome all the obstacles being thrown at her, she is going to need Kipa, her mother and friends to help her as she navigates a turn in the path, she has in front of her. Because one way or another, Raven’s life will be changed-forever.
WITCHING FIRE delivers a heart pounding, action packed ride from start to finish. What thrills me in this latest release in the Ante-Fae Adventures/Wild Hunt Series novel is how the decisions Raven makes in this book will affect not just her but also her friends and family as well. It gave me shivers reading this latest release from one of my favorite authors and I can not recommend this series enough for those who enjoy high octane adventure set in a world filled with paranormal/fantasy creatures and humanity that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very end of each book. What amazes me with this author’s books is how intricate the world building this author does for each of her series/books. We get to meet new characters in WITCHING FIRE, and it opens up a whole new world to explore in the future for the Wild Hunt/Ante-Fae Adventures series.
What I really enjoy is all the character growth this author gives her characters and as I remember meeting Raven way back in book four, A Shadow of Crows, she has come a long way from that initial meeting to now and I love how she has gown as a character into her own with WITCHING FIRE. The story flows fast and furious as the action just hits the ground running and I couldn’t put this one down. I think I read this book in less than two hours as I was enthralled to see where the author would take me in this story. With each book in this series, the author continues to deliver a wild and captivating ride from start to finish. If you haven’t checked out this series before, I highly recommend starting right from the beginning in The Silver Stag, which is free from the author at the moment and settle in for one wild and highly entertaining ride from start to finish. Now I can not wait to see how book seventeen, Veil of Stars ends this portion of the story ARC and I am really hoping she continues this series in one way or another as I would love to see what the characters are up against as after their lives changed so much....more

But when Wulfe goes missing, people in the Tr-Cities are dying and now the threat to a fragile alliance Mercy and her mate, Adam made with the vampires and the neutrality of the place where they live is at stake. An enemy is determined to destroy the pack and Mercy herself. The question is, can Mercy figure out who took Wulfe, why and save their vampire allies before all she holds dear is gone and Mercy is left bleeding on the ground?
Sweet lord above, SOUL TAKEN is one heck of a ride from start to finish. I am going to try to not spill any spoilers in case you haven’t read this one yet but suffice to say, be ready to ignore everything around you as you go on t his merry go round of a story that will leave you breathless. SOUL TAKEN is a story that has been coming since the events of Silence Fallen (Book 10) and the twists and turns in this newest addition in the Mercy Thompson series has me eager to see what is going to happen in the future. In SOUL TAKEN, Mercy is resigned to Wulfe being a nuisance stalker but when he goes missing, an ancient artifact shows up and death follows, well let’s just say that Mercy is about to find herself tested in ways that even she didn’t see coming. What I love about this series is how the author keeps it fresh with each book. We got characters that are as mysterious as the day they showed up in the series and we got long reigning characters popping in with secrets ready to be told, magic abilities that seem to scare the dickens out of people and danger is all around. Mercy is Coyote’s daughter and as always chaos follows but, in this case, it is a on the fence if it’s a good thing or not, especially as Mercy finds herself with abilities not the norm for her pop up. This is a story rich in character development, world building that keeps me glued to the pages and wishing for a map to refer to in the book and a story that continues to weave around this area of the Tri-Cities like a river. For myself, I felt like I was right there alongside Mercy, Adam, and the pack as they took on this foe that threatens not just them but everyone they love and care for. Patricia Briggs delivers in SOUL TAKEN the next part of Mercy’s story and delivers such depth in her storytelling, I never looked at the clock until I could put this down in order to sleep last night.
SOUL TAKEN is more than heroes get to fight danger and live another day. It’s also Wulfe’s story as a we get to know more of how he became the scary vampire who can wield magic at times and is powerful in a broken sort of way. The fact that the author kept the pacing a bit slower than I expected from the beginning until halfway through before revealing specific twists, information and more in the last half of the book is like night and day here. I am not sure if that was by design or not but when that happened, it took me a bit to get back into the story as I was jarred out of it all. SOUL TAKEN delivers all the bells and whistles that is a Mercy Thompson novel but also, we get insight on some of the long-term characters we didn’t have before, as well as questions from a few past books get answered even as new questions pop up by the end of SOUL TAKEN. What I do know after finishing SOUL TAKEN was this: Get ready for Mercy to go boom on her enemies because this time, she is playing for keeps.
If you haven’t gotten into the Mercy Thompson series before, I highly recommend reading it from the beginning (Moon Called, book 1) and I can attest, if you love quirky characters, worldbuilding that is on par with Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files or Yasmine Galenorn’s Wild Hunt series) then this series will keep you entertained, engrossed and ready for more. Now I am eager to see what Ms. Briggs has in store for Mercy, Adam, and the gang in the future books because SOUL TAKEN just about upped the ante in danger and intrigue.

In a small town in Northern California, the residents have disappeared and the Marrock, leader of the werewolves, finds out t**spoiler alert** SPOILER
In a small town in Northern California, the residents have disappeared and the Marrock, leader of the werewolves, finds out the town of Wild Sign is on their lands they own there. So, Bran sends mated werewolves, Charles Cornick and Anna Latham to check it out, but the question remains, how did the residents disappear with no trace? As past collides with present, Charles and Anna find that danger mounts as they deal with something they never anticipated before and if they can’t find the answers, whatever awakened will continue to cause havoc.
Wow! WOW! WOW! Is all I can say after reading this latest installment in the Alpha and Omega series which is a spin-off of the wildly popular and one of my favorite series, Mercy Thompson series. This time, Charles and Anna are tasked to investigate something that is more than either anticipates or finds the past of their pack meeting with the present as it collides in WILD SIGN. What I love about this series is that the author delivers a set of characters that just grow with each book and deliver some amazing scenes together and apart. I love how soft Charles can get around Anna yet anyone looking at her crossly will get his back up and his title as enforcer of the pack is not all for show. Add in a mystery that is as complex and unique as ever well, the reader will get sucked in like I did with the story and get lost with all the twists and turns. I know some things I sure didn’t see coming and the ending alone, left my jaw on the ground.
With each book in this series, we get treated to more of the pack, the complex and unique dynamics that engulf Anna as the omega of the pack and Charles who stole her heart and is one scary guy/wolf. Ms. Briggs delivers an action-packed story full of interesting characters-some old faces, some new ones, a mystery to figure out and danger that comes closer with each page to Charles and Anna. When the climatic last chapter hit, I was on the edge of my seat, anxious to see if they would live or die. It was that intense. Ms. Briggs is a talented storyteller who knows how to weave a spell around her readers and in WILD SIGN, the readers won’t be disappointed. Get ready for an edge of the seat ride from start to finish and you will be amazed in the end of some secrets that were only hinted at in past books. I can’t wait to see where the next book will take these guys and the readers as well.
