This series has taken me by surprise when I first read Diamonds back then and now with Trihn's story starting in Emeralds, I thought I'd be prepared with what Kyla have up her sleeves but apparently I've been blindsided yet again. She sure knows how to pack a punch even with a novella length read that has absolutely leave me wanting the next book ASAP!
Fans of the series would have met Trinh already in Gold and we've only scratched the surface back then. She's almost the total opposite of Bryna; more on the reserved side and more composed. Emeralds kicks off Trinh's backstory before she hits Vegas (and pre-Bryna days). Trinh is a girl with many talents- an ex-model, loves dancing ballet and about to enter NYU to pursue her degree in fashion design; she almost had the world at her fingertips.
What she didn't expect was a gorgeous guy named Preston to collide paths with her late one night after her ballet session and sweep her off with his charming ways. The last thing Trinh expected was to be caught up with a random stranger but Preston knows exactly how to win her heart. It won't be too long before Trinh lays her heart open for him and to only discover the devastation that comes after.

I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy this book immensely because I gobbled it up in one entire sitting. This read had my emotions swinging from one extreme to the other. The first half had my head swimming in the clouds but when it came down to the other half, I literally had my jaw dropped open at the sudden twist! Well played, Kyla. It's a compliment to say that you're a sadistic evil genius who knows how to rile us readers up and drive us bonkers.

This book stayed true to what Kyla does best- it had the crazy angst, the smokin' hot steam and it made sure we had one helluva rollercoaster ride with some glorious angst! It's probably too early to judge but I'm already loving this better than Diamonds/Gold. Trinh had her moments too but I could understand her choices. And Preston? Oh boy, I just hope I get to see more of him in the next one because I am just DYING to know what he's really up to.
No one does a read better than Kyla when it comes to MCs you'd hate to love and love to hate, so if that's your cuppa- Emeralds is right up your alley. Plus, it has tons of angst and you don't even need to read the previous books in the series to start ;)

Emeralds is the third book in the All that Glitters series but can be read as a STANDALONE. This is the first of the duet that tells Trinh's story which will be concluded in Platinum.

“Take it from a man who almost lost everything, you can’t focus on the end. You have to concentrate on what’s right in front of you”
Oh. My. God. I cannot remember the last time I cried so hard over a read but this book completely wrecked me inside out. I mean, I was full-fledged sobbing into my pillow during the last 10% and I didn't know if I could even finish the read for crying out loud.
A. Meredith Walters has once again succeeded in punching me right in the feels (multiple times may I add) with this heartbreakingly beautiful read. There's just so much raw honesty in her words and so much truth in how we cope with the thought of life and death. This story had absolutely consumed me right from the start and I almost wished it never end.
"Stop thinking about your life in increments. Seconds. Minutes. Days. Look at the bigger picture and embrace whatever time you have. Don't look constantly toward the end. Enjoy the right now."
This book had everything I loved in a read. I laughed as much as I cried. The heavy moments were balanced out by the light moments. The pain from the heartache equally compensated by the joy in finding love. I felt like I was truly a part of Corin & Beckett's journey and I wanted to live alongside them. Forever.
Also I never thought I'd get to say this ever but there is finally, FINALLY someone who can match up to Augustus Waters. If you don't know who that is (shame on you!), he's my ultimate book boyfriend from my all time favorite soul-crushing beautiful read The Fault in Our Stars. I'm not even going to tell you how many times I cried reading this book or watching the movie. So yes, Beckett Kingsley, YOU DEFINITELY GAVE ME THE BUTTERFLIES FEELS.
This is a definite must-read for all you romance lovers who thrives on the great emotional punch in their reads.

"Break the rules, Karla. Just this once."
Everytime I pick up a LH Cosway book, I just know that I can expect something different each time. Reading her stories is just as good as living through her characters' lives and I find myself easily whisked away into their world. With endearing flawed characters and a pair of star-crossed lovers taking center stage, LH Cosway delivers yet another stunning read that will leave your heart pounding.
Karla Sheehan and Lee Cross are two people leading very different lives; one who upholds the law while the other breaks it. Right off the bat from their first interaction, there was just no denying the sparks between them. Lee is a sexy flirt that can be intense at times but yet he also has this sweet, protective side of him. It's no surprise that a strong heroine like Karla would be tempted by this incorrigible sexy man!
A huge crux of the story will have the readers experiencing the ins and outs of the police scene where Karla always find herself crossing paths with the Cross brothers. The romance is a slow burn but the sizzling chemistry was always present when Karla and Lee are in close proximity. The atmosphere surrounding this read can be quite intense at times because all those hidden glances and sexual tension were just begging to explode already.
What I really loved about this read (and in every LH Cosway read) is simply her characters. There wasn't anything extravagant about the plotline but it was her imperfect characters and their dynamics that stole the show for me here. Karla and Lee may be two people who share different beliefs about the world they live in but when they're together, they've allowed each other to view it a little differently. There's always more beyond the black and white of the world.
Admittedly I wasn't too sure where the story was heading in during the first half but the second half of the read got me back on the saddle which I really enjoyed. LH Cosway delivers yet another captivating read with Hearts of Blue that is filled with alluring characters which you can't resist falling in love with. The Cross brothers surely stole my attention already and I can't wait to get their stories next!

There's probably a lot of superb reviews going around for this book already, so I'll just keep mine to a short and simple one :)
I've been a huge fan of CoHo since her Slammed series and while her recent work had been huge misses for me, I'm glad that November 9 has reminded me again why I loved her work in the first place. With CoHo, you can always expect her to produce a read that is original and creative and filled it with words that could pull at your heartstrings.
November 9 is a story within a story and I thought it was brilliant at how she incorporated references of common story tropes that most of us book lovers could relate to. The witty banters shared between Ben & Fallon cracked me up and I was really enamoured by the idea of them meeting up every year on the same day. It only made for their moments to be memorable each time.
Being said all that, this book was a clear-cut 5 stars for me right up till the 70% mark. I had my hunches on the plot-twist but I have to say I'm a little disappointed that it still happened. While I can understand why it happened, I can't help but feel that it ended up undermining Ben & Fallon's relationship from the start. (view spoiler)[Part of me wondered if Ben would have taken an interest in Fallon in the first place if he didn't feel responsible for the fire that he started and see past her scars. As much as I sympathise for Ben for what happened with him and how much he grovel back to make amends with Fallon, I guess I was a little disappointed that their relationship was started based on this. (hide spoiler)] The book would have been perfect enough for me without this plot twist but I guess that's just me.
Overall CoHo still delivered a heartfelt and inspiring read, one that she puts a creative spin to it and managed to put her readers through the wringer of emotions.

"Never give up or back down on the things that fill your soul, Calloway. There is no worse life than a hollow one."
After 6 hours of reading (& crying) within one sitting of this read, I was almost afraid that I could never bring myself to write this review. Each and every book in the Addicted/Calloway Sisters series has such a dear place in my heart and with Long Way Down marking the end of this entire series, embracing myself for this read was like wishing that the end will never come.
Long Way Down will bring you on a tumultuous ride with Ryke Meadows & Daisy Calloway as they chase after their long deserved happiness. They're wild and primitive; these two are the daredevils of the gang and nothing will slow them down, not even their 7-years age difference. Living life on the edge comes with risks that these two are no strangers to but, how far are they willing to go when it boils down to their lives at stake.
Reading this was like unwrapping an early Christmas gift, knowing that whatever lies inside will cause my heart to swell with nothing but everlasting love and joy. I don't want to go into specifics of the story because I want everyone to experience this journey through their own eyes as they read it. The Ritchie twins are never short of words that could evoke a storm of emotions from their readers, I already had tears rolling down my face by the time I hit 5% of this read! My heart went from soaring high to suddenly being plummeted as Ryke & Daisy's story took me on an adventure.
Every couple in the Addicted series have their own battles to fight but with Ryke & Daisy, they're the risk-takers. Everyone sees them as reckless but to each other, their love runs deeper than that and they see each other for who they truly are. Their love was selfless, not only to their own but to every single person they cared about. It broke my heart over and over again to watch them fight their battles but it was their strength and faith to overcome them that really sent me into puddles of tears.
Even with this being marked as the 9th book in the series, I'm still blown away by the dynamics of the entire Addicted gang. Whether it's the Calloway sisterhood or the brotherly love of Lo, Connor & Ryke; the Ritchie twins continues to showcase the growth of these characters and the level of maturity they've reached since the very first book. I felt like I've grown along with these characters and witness every ups and down with them. The kind of attachment I have for these people are as real as they can be.
Exhilarating yet heartbreaking, I dare you to not fall in love with this read. The Ritchie twins have brought their A-game to greater heights by delivering the perfect conclusion to this epic saga. There was no other ending I could possibly ask for than the beautiful one given to us. The Addicted series was more than just a series of stories, it was an adventure of a lifetime and an unforgettable journey. From friendships to love, from hitting rock bottom to making breakthroughs; I wouldn't trade the experience of it for anything else in this world.
Krista & Becca Ritchie are definitely forces to be reckoned with and they continue to outdo themselves with each book they put out. I could easily find myself completely immersed in this world they've built and wishing that I could spend an eternity with these characters. With this bittersweet finale, no doubt it'll definitely take me a while to recover from this read.
My final parting words: READ THIS SERIES. YOU WON'T REGRET IT. [image]
Long Way Down is the 4th book in the Calloway Sisters spinoff series and must be read in order. It must also be read after Addicted After All as it contains spoilers. This book also concludes the entire Addicted series.
