Excitement! Jayna and Kiran's story had. it. all. My first read by this author and I'm honestly blown away. I had no idea what to expect and I was thrown in the deep end with so much heartbreak and sorrow. This hit me in the feels almost the entire way through and i appreciated how it touched on race, society and social standing in certain communities and what lengths people in power will go to to stay there. What got me the most was despite what had torn them apart, Jayna and Kiran never stopped longing and loving each other. I volunteered to listen and review a complimentary copy of this. All opinions are my own.

I love how the whole story is coming together with what I think is only one book to come in this series. We see more of the side characters in this saga in this instalment. Emmett, Travis and Adrianna are the focus here, but it doesn't entirely veer away from the main plot as we still see Ember and Vin here, they just aren't the focus. My heart broke for each of the MC's in this book. Travis has baggage upon baggage and Emmett and Adri don't exactly get off dirt free. I like that we see more of Adri and how she's not as innocent as one might imagine her to be. I love this series a lot I can't wait to see what else Ember and the crew have to do. ...more

This world is like a home to me since my all time favourite book is in this series. It's my favourite Mafia series ever and coming back, even for that short time was like a warm hug.I really liked Santino and Katja's story. It was a really emotional and roller coaster of a journey. I felt Katja's pain and I love how she has a strong personality and a spine of steel despite what she's been through. I especially loved this one because I just loved the dynamic between Luce (Diana) and Bain.
