This is the story about Raine CarsEven though I have not read the previous books in this series, I felt like this book could be read as a standalone. This is the story about Raine Carson, a college professor who has always been fascinated with myths and folklore, who had just literally woke a sleeping dragon (or Drakon in this case). Lucius is the 4,000-year-old half-dragon, half-human who had purposely decided to go into the deep sleep after witnessing so much death and destruction and the fear of becoming a monster. But with the appearance of Raine, he was compelled to wake up after 300 years. He tried to ignore her constant talking, primarily to herself, but with her in danger, he could not let anything happen to her.
I really enjoyed reading Raine and Lucius’ story. I smiled quite a bit with Raine’s constant chattering and watching Lucius navigate through all the changes in the world. The mystery of how and why Raine was the one to be able to wake Lucius definitely kept me invested in their story.

Amber is trying to right the wrong she may have caused, and she was determined to do whatever she can to get to the truth. On top of being behind enemy lines, she now has a contract out on her. This is where Jesse comes into play. He is a hired assassin and he was one of four who was contacted for this new contract. At first glance, he was interested in taking the job based on the amount that was offered, but something just didn’t ring true to him. After further investigation, he finds his gut was right. Now he has taken on a new job and it was to find and protect Amber.
After a rocky start and trust is slowly gained, Amber and Jesse embark on a fast-paced and intense journey, starting with a rescue mission and then to find out who is out to kill Amber. Along the way with their attraction so strong, they find their way into each other’s hearts. I really loved the relationship that developed between Amber and Jesse. Amber, a hardened Valkyrie, never thought it was possible to ever be able to trust her heart to anyone was finally able to let go. Jesse, knew from the very beginning that Amber was special and the more he spent time with her, the more determined he was to keep her.
Overall a really enjoyable read, it was also so great to see all the characters from the other books and how they all became a family. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

When I read the blurb of the story I was intrigued, a sheltered young woman, with 7 over protective brothers, reaching out for an adventure. And a brooding “beast” with a horrible childhood finally learning to trust and finding his happiness. Unfortunately it was not as easy as that.
There was part of me that really liked Marianna, she had guts to go for what she wants. I loved that she was a romance reader and it was cute and funny how she was getting lessons on how to seduce a man through her reading. When her circumstances changed, her strength really showed, she knew what she wanted and she went after it. Unfortunately it was too one-sided for too long and she really let Nico get away with way too much. So basically it was Nico where I had a bit of a problem, my heart really broke for him for all he had lost and went through with Alethea and Kosta but how he treated Marianna was so uncool. I understand about having a hard time trusting after what he went through, but it was to the extreme. His words and actions were too much for me.
I would have gone below 3 stars, but at least there was a nice HEA, it was almost too easy for Nico but it just showed the strength of Marianna.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was actually the first book I've ever read by this author and this one was a great one to start off with. The story had so much heart in it. I felt so much for the heroine in this book, Anna who was in a horrible accident and was pretty much left for dead. She miraculously survived and in a coma. Roman who happens to work in the same hospital recognize her from high school. He was drawn to her and end up spending time visiting and reading to her knowing she was pretty much alone. When she finally wakes up, she realizes she is going to have to do the one thing she was taught as a child, never ask for help and never strive for anything above your status. Unfortunately for her, Roman does not feel the same. In the beginning, he kept telling himself he was helping a friend, former fellow student and a resident of his hometown, but eventually he realizes he felt more and wanted more but he had an uphill challenge. Anna's upbringing kept getting in the way, but I'm happy to say he breaks through and they get their HEA.
I also loved the side characters in this book, Anna is so loved, it even surprises her. Roman's family is also wonderful, I am really interested in reading the first book in this series about his older brother, Justin and Melody. As for Anna's family, they created so much heartache for her, definitely not a fan.
All in all, this was a good book. Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.

As a female dragon shifter Lyndi Chandali has been taught that she is really not all that useful except as a political pawn. Rather than wallowing in her fate, she decides to make a worthwhile life for herself by fighting alongside her enforcer brother and taking in orphaned dragons and providing them a home. Because she knew she could never be a true mate, Lyndi never allowed her attraction to the beta enforcer Levi Rowtag ever come to light. They have known each other for centuries and have always circled around one another. Levi always felt the connection between them but due to multiple misunderstandings throughout the years the only feeling he felt from Lyndi was contempt. Even though he believed she hated him, he always felt the need to protect her. But circumstances have now changed, Levi had to make a decision between duty to his king and a chance to finally claim his mate.
Like in the previous three books a lot happens in this book, almost too much, there were so many moments that had me at the edge of my seat. What I really loved about this book was the devotion Levi felt towards Lyndi and her orphans. When the two finally revealed how they felt towards each other, you could feel the connection between the two. I adored all of the orphaned dragons, they did provide some comic relief at times. And it was wonderful catching up with some of the characters in the previous books.
All in all a wonderful read! And with the way this book ended, I am now anxiously awaiting for Rune’s story!

Both main characters are tough as nails but so completely different. Chloe was a bit of a wild card. She is single-minded about her all missions and has always worked alone. Heath is known to have a white knight complex, he just can’t seem to help himself to always needing to help. He is definitely the calm to Chloe’s chaos.
Since the disbanding of the Valkyrie’s project, Chloe has been on her own and seeking vengeance against human traffickers. Unfortunately with her latest target, she is now placed in danger. With the help of her former roommate, Chloe and her boyfriend Tyler, Heath is brought in to keep her safe.
As much as I enjoyed the chemistry between Chloe and Heath, I wasn’t too much of a fan of Chloe. I love bada$$ heroines, but Chloe was a bit too much for me. I appreciated her drive to rescue these women from horrible situations, but she was almost too brash in her actions. Heath was a dream, he called Chloe on some of her decisions but continued to support and be there for her.
Overall, this latest installation to this series was good and looking forward to more.

The best friend's little sister trope is a popular storyline these days so I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it or not. Well I have to say I loved this one.
Beckett Hollister, a former Special Forces captain, trying to come back to civilian life just broke my heart! It is so difficult to imagine what these soldiers have to see and do in the name of our country. We start the story with some of the hard decisions Beckett had to make which affects him to this day. And to add to that, he is informed that his father is terminally ill. He was ready to return home, but he realizes that home is where his ultimate forbidden fantasy is. Sierra Buchanan, his best friend Noah’s little sister. He has been fighting this attraction he felt toward her for awhile now, but now that he was home, he just could not stay away.
Sierra Buchanan has known Beckett for years, they were like family, so she is confused of why he was distancing himself from her. There is a bit of the unrequited love trope going on here. Sierra has had feelings for Beckett for as many years as they have known each other, she has compared him with all her relationships so they never go very far. But with the way Beckett has been acting towards her, she knows nothing would ever come of it.
But as time goes on, things change between the two. An incident involving his little neighbor acts as a catalyst to show how protective Beckett feels towards Sierra and in turn the walls around his heart starts to crumble. Then when Beckett’s father turns for the worse, Sierra is there as his anchor and he finally feels the first sense of peace in a long time. And to add even to all this, his past comes back to cause even more trouble with Sierra possibly put in harm’s way. She was now his and he would do anything to protect her.
I have to say the suspense portion of their story had really kept my attention, I was so sure I knew who the “baddie” was so it was quite a surprise when all was revealed. I did feel like there is more to come.
There were also so many touching moments in this story, not just between Beckett and Sierra, but also between Beckett and his little neighbor, Ella and the little senior pup Walter. These scenes made Beckett so much more swoon worthy. I loved the comparison between Walter and Beckett; both had aches and pains and both were described as grumpy, it was actually very cute. The chemistry between Beckett and Sierra was both sweet and sexy, once all the walls were down they could not keep their hands off each other. To be absolutely honest, it did take a bit too long to get to this point.
Overall, this was a great read, I felt so many emotions reading Beckett and Sierra’s story. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. Noah Buchanan’s story sounds awesome.

Their story is somewhat of a second chance that actually started hundreds of years earlier when an arrogant dragon falls in love with a mortal woman. Sorin’s actions end up leading to the death and destruction of Adela and the village she had sworn to protect. Realizing what he had done, he swore to continue to protect the village Adela was bonded to.
It is now the early days of the Pretern wars, the late 1990s, a weary Sorin is in America, so tired of war and blood starts to come alive again when he is face to face with a woman who had striking similarities to his lost love.
We follow along their journey as they remember what they meant to each other and as they face the coming war. They are confronted with evil and betrayal but fight it together. We also see sacrifices and heroes made. A very enjoyable read.

The Au Pair Affair was such a fun read! Burgess is a 37-year old ice hockey captain of the Boston Bearcats and Tallulah is a 26-year old graduate student studying marine biology. Their story is an age-gap nanny/boss story. At their friend’s wedding (in Fangirl Down) they had an agreement where Tallulah would be the nanny for Burgess’ daughter, Lissa. We learn that Tallulah has a traumatic childhood that causes her to back out of their agreement but Burgess is able to change her mind which then starts their journey.
On the outside Burgess may seem rough around the edges, he’s even called Sir Savage by the masses. But since he’s met Tallulah and learned of her trauma, he is immediately smitten goes directly to protection mode. He is patient with her and tries not to move too fast. Don’t get me wrong we still get that dirty mouth that we all love so much from this author!
Overall, a great story! I am definitely looking forward to the next couple!

I am really enjoying the books in the Indiana Summer series and Love Shack is no different. This book revolves around Berkley Carr and Lawson Salder, they are both transplants to the small town of Cemetery Indiana, but they actually have history. They both grew up in a difficult neighborhood and had gone through some traumatic times. Imagine the surprise when Berkeley recognized Lawson, she has been trying to overcome a scandal from her past and seeing Lawson again, reminded her of it all. She decides she wants to keep some distance but unfortunately her four-legged friends does not allow this.
Lawson is also one who has gone through trauma, he has traveled the world and now has settled down in Cemetery to open a T-shirt business. When Cheese, Berkeley’s thieving cat, keeps pulling them together, they become closer and closer. The more you read their story, the more it seems like fate was what was bringing them together.
As in pretty much all the books I’ve read by this author, I have loved all the animals portrayed in the stories. In Love Shack, we have Hero, Berkeley’s dog who has this ability to tune in to everyone’s emotions and give them what they need and of course Cheese who just can not help but steal Lawson’s property. We can not forget about Kathleen, the roaming mannequin who has taken a “real” liking to poor Lawson. Hilarious scenes with her. We also get a side romance between 2 more transplants, Lark and Oliver, I kind of wished they would have gotten their own book, but their story here was great also.
Overall, another wonderful book in this great series!

This is a childhood friends-to-lovers story between Poppy Porter and Jack Bridger. Ever since 7-year old Poppy found and took home a beaten up 14 year old Jack, he has been protective over her. Even though he has kept his distance throughout the years, he made sure to keep tabs on her. At 17, Poppy is attacked and Jack was the one to save her. Her feelings towards him definitely grew but Jack didn’t think he was good enough for her so he left and joined the military. Now Jack is back, and he is once again there for Poppy when danger surrounds her. But this time he is not holding back from her. Even though he is keeping secrets of the real reason he is back and it could potentially make her hate him, he is determined to protect her and keep her.
There is definitely a lot happening in this book. The suspense and drama surrounding artificial intelligence and the secrets Jack was keeping from Poppy lowered my rating a tad bit. The chemistry and steam between Jack and Poppy was definitely there. Overall, I enjoyed their story and with the way it ended, I do want to keep on with this series.

Brick and Madi’s story was a really great read! The banter between these two was so fun. I loved how Madi always tried to get under Brick’s skin, which really was not too hard to do. As Brick’s new administrative assistant, Madi was becoming indispensable at his company, but there was something deeper there. Brick has been fighting this intense chemistry and attraction, because he knew that nothing could come of it. They do finally give in to the attraction but there are forces that would try to keep them apart.

Book 2 in the Osborn Brothers’ series is the story of Memphis and Diah and I found this to be an enjoyable read. I loved how protective Memphis was of Diah right from the beginning even knowing she is hiding why she wanted a job so badly at the campgrounds. The thing is, he too was pretty secretive of why he had even bought the campgrounds in the first place. Memphis was so kind and patient with Diah, he really wanted to earn her trust. As the two work together (along with the help from Remmy, who I hope will get a story too), they become so much closer and they start to see how perfect they are for each other. They definitely had great chemistry. The suspense and drama did keep things interesting. I am hoping to see more from this series.

The unrequited love trope is one of my favorites and I absolutely loved Jasper and Sloane’s love story! But with this we also get the heartache, something or someone is keeping the two apart. It was heartbreaking to see what that was in their story.
As we weave through their journey, what is evident is how they are there for each other throughout the years. They have been childhood friends and they never lost connection, they supported the other full on. When difficult circumstances gives them a chance to be in close proximity, they are given the opportunity to finally reveal how they have felt for the other. When the barriers comes down, the chemistry is intense! I loved everything about their story and continue to look forward to more by this author. ...more

Once I read the blurb, the storyline sounded really interesting. Well, it definitely was. Usually anti-heroes are a hit or miss for me, but I really liked Lucien in this one.
I loved both characters so much! Diana was all good, she was so kind and sweet. She basically gave up her soul to save her father. And then you have Lucien, who could be such a jerk (he is the Devil), but as he spends more time with Diana, things start to change for him.
I did not see this as too dark of a romance, which is actually nice sometimes. I think it is the banter between the two that I loved the most. When Lucien was the a$$, I just wanted to kick him where it hurts, then we have those hilarious moments like in the grocery store, where I was laughing out loud. But then you have those sweet moments when Lucien actually starts to feel that made my heart melt.
Overall, I thought this was a great debut novel. And the ending was just perfect.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the complimentary copy of Midnight with the Devil. All opinions are my own.

Overall, I really enjoyed Susanna and Lucian story. Due to their class differences and their boss/employee status, their love story was definitely a slow-burn. But even with these obstacles they have a lot of chemistry and are drawn to each other. They both have secrets from their past which adds another layer that keeps them apart. However, with a little bit of help from Lucian’s sisters they have the chance to share with each other. When someone from Susanna’s past comes to cause problems, it does cause the dreaded “third-act break up” but thankfully it is resolved pretty quickly.
This was a pretty easy and fun read, I really did like the tension between these two and the push and pull was great and adding in the secondary romance was a nice touch.

Another great addition to this awesome series! We finally get Larkin and Teague’s story and it was as great as I was hoping it to be. Both of4.5 stars
Another great addition to this awesome series! We finally get Larkin and Teague’s story and it was as great as I was hoping it to be. Both of these two have been in the background for much of the series and surprisingly I never really thought about their history, but now that we know, it was fascinating!
With Larkin being the last single sentinel from Knox’s team, she is fed up with everyone trying to set her up. Teague, Chloe’s anchor, is well known to not be interested in a lasting relationship. Both have felt the attraction to the other but have been staying away from each other for their own reasons. After another attempt to set Larkin up, she comes up with a plan to have Teague as her secret boyfriend. All that ensues with this relationship was fantastic! All the secrets and shenanigans and amazing chemistry was perfect. I absolutely loved how crazy Larkin’s demon was and how Teague was just as fascinated. He actually did not fear Larkin’s demon as everyone else did, he actually like it. The secondary and previous characters definitely added to my love of this book.
Even though Larkin was the last of this group, I’m hoping to see more of Teague’s crew.

In Natalie and August’s story we have the lust at first sight to enemies at every meet to a marriage of convenience. Eventually that initial attraction becomes undeniable with every encounter. They both have a lot riding on this marriage (until it doesn’t) and they try to make work, but the miscommunication is high in this one. I absolutely loved the banter between these two, especially their nicknames for each other.
Overall, their story was s$xy, fun, hilarious at times, and many heartfelt moments. And August falling hard for Natalie is the icing on the cake! This was a great read.

ButEmily and Saul’s story was a very cute and sweet love story. Saul thought he was making his intentions known with his subtle hints for awhile now. But Emily just couldn’t believe the most eligible bachelor would be interested in her so she has been chalking it up as Saul being his friendly self. With a little bit of help from this close knit town, Saul steps up his game and he finally sees an opening to what he knows what Emily could mean to him. I loved how Saul was attracted to every facet of all that is Emily. She can be prim and proper, a total professional, but he has also seen her loosened up and is beloved by everyone and he wants all of her.
Overall, this was a great story. Both Emily and Saul have a bit of baggage but the way they support each other was so great to see. There are also so many wonderful secondary characters and couples that really made this book so much more special. Shout out to Satin/Satan and Snuggles!
