The keepers love for the little dragon was so great he would even give his own life to save her.
I love Dragon stories and this one was very sweet. The keeper was loyal and brave. The King was Evil. I would have happily read this story to my dragon loving boys as a bedtime story....more

The twins worked in the bar and their life was happy. All that changed when their father died a year ago. They now sleep on the floor of the small shed at the back of their Uncles house. Their Uncle now runs the bar, treats them with contempt and pays them barely enough to feed themselves. The girls, along with their friend, Ameranda, decide that if they are ever going to make a better life for 4 year old Adania they must leave.
Skydreamer is a captivating YA fantasy read. The story opens straight into their world which had me a little confused with the Esprits and how they worked. However it doesn’t take long to become acquainted with the different concepts of the Esprits, vegos and travel spheres etc.
The story changes POV between Jaden and Isla which I liked because the sisters, although twins, have their own distinct voice and very different personalities. I liked that the dragon’s thoughts weren’t completely human. They had strong bonds of love and family but sometimes mating was just that, a means to produce. I would have loved to have seen more of the dragon politics within the council.
Skydreamer is more than a love story and more than a fantasy. It’s a story of courage, family, love and loss. The characters will draw you in and you won’t want to let them go. Recommended for lovers of light fantasy and dragons! ...more

However, due to Sonny’s negligence the plan backfired and now they had a plague of cats and cats attract witches. How will they get rid of the witches? Now Sonny had a plan!
A very humorous short story with excellent imagery! I could picture the whole scene as Sonny is capturing the wild cats and getting clawed and scratched and the Wizard telling him to stop complaining. Sonny is definitely a scoundrel and gets himself out of this fix with an adults only ending. Very funny!

Gabriel spenGuiding Hearts by Claire Gillian Jemma’s last romance had left her heart in tatters and she was determined not to truly trust a man again. Gabriel spent his time alone in his apartment cooking scrumptious meals but had no one to share them with. A seemingly possessed GPS system would bring these two together. One with a broken heart the other simply broken. This was a nice romance that developed over time. I liked the notion of the GPS with a mind of its own.
Better Latte than Never by Katrina Sizemore Andrew and Hailey had been best friends since they were 13. Andrew had since moved away from their small country town but he was back for Valentines Day to support Hailey and make her happy just as he had promised her father before he died. But would Hailey realise that Andrew had been in love with her all this time or would he leave Milltown and go back to the city without telling her his feelings?
Dream Architect by S L Hughson Ashlin first meets Dylan when she almost backs over him with her car. She then finds out that he will be working at her Uncles company with her. The story gives the reader both Ashlin’s and Dylan’s POV which I really liked. There was so much sexual tension between them and Dylan was so sweet to encourage Ashlin to follow her dreams.
One Hot Angel by Jaylee Austin Tiffany needed a date for the Valentines Day High School Reunion. She advertises online for a date and is answered by Michael. Only Michael is an angel and he was already in love with Tiffany. Could he make her fall in love with him? There was more than a good show at the school reunion at stake here. I loved this story! Michael was one hot angel and he was so cheeky and confident.
Rock My Bones by Wendy Sparrow Jared, a palaeontologist at the museum, was working Valentines Day which was pretty normal for him. But he couldn’t understand why the beautiful woman painting the mural outside his lab would be working. Shouldn’t she be on a date? This was a bit like a palaeontologist’s wet dream. Hot beautiful girl falls for geeky guy and can’t wait to jump into bed with him because she likes her men nerdy.
Whether you’re home alone nursing a broken heart or snuggled next to your soul mate this anthology of romance is the perfect read this Valentines Day. And for all those singles, get out there, you never know when you might bump into your Accidental Valentine. ...more

Maronda’s Quest: Maronda must go on her portal quest on her 18th birthday as her mother did before her. Her mother believes it is so Maronda can find her true love. However the wizard has a more important quest in mind for Maronda. Great twist at the end.
Entrance of lost souls: Gladys’ job is to guard the portal that connects the faerie world and the human world. This job can be fraught with danger. This was my favourite of the stories and I would love to read a novel on Gladys and her adventures.
Mexmur the Huntress: Mexmur’s quest is to charge the dragon’s talon to restore the magic to the kingdom. Nice feel good story with a happy ending.
Where Once were Hearts: This story was a gothic fantasy. Not what I’m used to but intriguing with an unexpected ending.
Ordinary World: The portal entrance didn’t come until half way through the story and the lead up was a bit ordinary although the storyline was original.
The Lunatic Queen: Vazya’s enchantment has darkened the land and now the land is dying. Pavel and Tamara feel they must kill Vazya to end the eternal night. But first they must get past the Queen’s minions. Breath holding suspense was rife in this do or die fantasy.
I was a little sceptical when I first received this book to read. Short fantasy stories hmmm I’m not so sure! It can be difficult to write something different in the Fantasy genre. Having the stories put together in one book would make it all the more difficult. However, these authors have all managed to put their own unique stamp on the fantasy genre. Great short stories for YA fantasy fans. Each story was well executed and managed to keep me enthralled. ...more
