Catharine and Alex’s story is done, wrapped in a little box with perhaps one or two unfinished business in my mind, more so on Colonel Brooks who seems to get away with ‘murder’….well not literally but if you read book 3 you probably know what I’m talking about. No closure with the Father-daughter issue/dynamic. And still with the fade to black in the intimate scenes. Well, I guess we can’t have everything end nicely and in ways that we want.
Having said that, this was another great, enjoyable read and a wonderful series with plenty of angst in between which kept me on edge.

And I sure as hell shouldn't have done that and should have just read it from the get-go cos now I realise that this is so up my alley and I can't get enough. I loved the dynamics between MCs, Catharine Cleveland and Alex Grey; all that pull-push factor, should I or shouldn't I?
Don't let me even start on the angst, the drama which can get intense… there was just a lot happening in TSW. Like really Alex, why Caleb? I mean I get the reasoning. Caleb seems pretty likeable initially but turns out to be an egotistical maniac and definitely not a likeable person over time. As for the Senator, well he is on another level of man-I-really-despised. At one point, I just wanted to throttle him cos what he did to Catharine was just so unforgivable. And Catharine, just leave the damn man already! You deserved so much more than him!
Can't wait to dive into book 2 and see what happens next. I'm really rooting for Catharine to come out on top and find the happiness she so deserves.

A somewhat uncommon plot, to me at least, of finding love with your husband’s mistress… Veronica and Ally met under a bizarre circumstance where they both have a common interest - Gabe, Veronica’s husband & Ally’s fiancée. Sparks ignited as both Veronica and Ally spent time together trying to unravel Gabe’s infidelities. Though I must add that I somehow missed the lead-up to our two MCs developing their relationship - from not friends to friendly terms and eventual lovers. The transition to developing feelings for each other seemed abrupt which was my only qualm. All in all, this was an absolutely entertaining read....more

I’m a big fan of powerful femme and age-gap romance, and you can’t get any more powerful than Madam President Constance (aka Connie) Calvin. And then you have Emily Lawrence, a successful MD in her own right.
The book started with both Connie and Emily oblivious of each other initially with Emily making a passing remark while examining Zachary (Connie’s son). Said remark came to Connie’s knowledge which then started the initial meeting between our 2 MCs. Over time, they became friends and soon enough feelings evolved between Connie and Emily.
Story has a mix of romance and politics though leaning more toward romance; how they maneuver their courtship/relationship. Rivalry between the 2 parties was written into the plot but wasn’t heavily laden with cynicism or antagonism; it’s a love story after all with politics taking a step back and just hovering in the background.

Slow burn romance between 2 thirty-something MDs…Very rich, very smart, very beautiful Dr. Alexandra Edison who took over running of a hospital in Seattle owned by her family where a certain Dr. Blake Westmore heads up the General Surgery Department.

For the romantics at heart, Business of the Heart could just be the book for you. You might say that it’s a cliche, boring mundane romance, nothing new, blah blah… I don’t care. I’m in need of that warm fuzzy feeling, need something to put a damn smile on my face, need to read about that big grand gesture, need to read about all the miscommunication that always happened when couples don’t talk to each other, need an MC who is close off and has walls build damn high, need an MC who is a ray of sunshine. I just need them and wanna read them regardless. And I got it with BOTH… ❤️⭐️ ...more

Possibly because I don’t have that warm and fuzzy feeling when it comes to Took me a while to warm up to Crossing the Line and warm up I did…finally. Possibly because I don’t have that warm and fuzzy feeling when it comes to Sierra Fuentes. There’s just something about her that just didn’t sit well with me….initially. Perhaps her character came on a bit too strong and I didn’t like it…. A 20+ y/o intern and a 40+ y/o judge, a big age-gap mind you and that’s possibly why Sierra, a player no less, had no qualms chasing after Jordan. But alas Sierra falls hard and when one falls hard for another, they ‘grow’ up and stop chasing skirts (or whatever ladies normally wear) around.
Not that Jordan is all Ms. Perfect, she has her own hung up… 1) of her power over Sierra given the working relationship between them (which I totally get and respect) and 2) the 20 age gap between them when pt. 1 above is no longer an issue… ok I get it as well but it gets lame when this is all that she thinks about. Eventually both Sierra and Jordan reach their destination and it’s quite heartening to see their characters develop over time…or one might say that they both ‘grow up’…finally! ...more

Now, what draws me into reading The Executive Liaison is Scarlett Black, the stoic lady who has everything put together, the eldest daughter of one of the wealthiest families who is groomed to take over the company, a fiancee (a man at that) to whom she has been engaged to forever. Little did we know that she has an alter ego, a Domme aka Dominique, seeking company with women who enjoy being submissive. Along came Isabel, one of Scarlett’s employees in a new company that was recently bought over where Scarlett is the CEO. What follows are Dominique and Beauty (aka Isabel) meeting online through Darkest Desires, having an online (sexual) relationship and subsequently a physical one without knowing the real identity of the other person. When their real identity came to light, I thought the I❤️U came a bit too rushed but for my liking. Having said that, I still enjoyed TEL, and dare I say more so than Book 1. ...more

A Whisper of Solace is by far the angstiest book that I have read. Never have I ever read something remotely that angsty. And of course, the angst lover in me absolutely, without a doubt, adore reading it. I mean, come on....it has all my (and many others I believed) favorite trope - age gap romance, an ice queen who simply refuses to thaw that easily, a high-powered femme who is willing to move mountain and yet remained in the background for the sake of love.
Not gonna give you a run-down/synopsis of the book...you can read it from the book cover or the many reviews from other readers. But what I can and will tell you is this... The angst didn't start midpoint or at the 75% mark of the book. It started really early...at 15% into the book! And it's one angst after another and at some point, I thought my dear heart just couldn't take any more of the angst but I did and kept going well into the wee hours...
If you love angst, go for it. A word of advise - A Whisper of Solace is not a fluffy, not a light-hearted read and it doesn’t give you a warm fuzzy feeling read. Only towards the tail end of the book, do we get to feel the all-consuming happiness for Neve and Audrey.
A solid 5 ⭐️ read for yours truly and $$$ well-spent; no doubt about it ...more
