I read this aloud with my 7 year old who loves wolves and she was captivated from page one. If you enjoy fairytale reimaginings, Russian folklore or stories full of magic, excitement and adventure then this is for you. It would also be a prefect read for fans of the movie Wolfwalkers. I'm a little biased because Snow White and Rose Red is my favorite classic fairy tale and there aren't very many re-tellings or adaptations of it so I'm happy to take what I can get. That being said, Emily Winfield Martin did an amazing job with it. The story of two sisters and an enchanted forest is so suited to her style of storytelling and illustration. The illustrations throughout really complement the story and make for a more immersive experience. I highly recommend this to fans of fairy tales. It is a great example of a fairly simple classic tale retold and expanded in a way that remains true to the original. Also, IT IS SO PRETTY!!!...more

He is searching for the right princess, the one whose "love will be like silk around it." He meets many beautiful and enchanting princess but each one hurts his sensitive heart in some way.
