The writing was flawless and the story was incredibly original.
Yet...
I guessed the biggest plot twist rather early:
...and the romance aspect didn't quite work for me. Things got better at the last 20%, but it doesn't change the fact that I skimmed through almost all the sex scenes and rolled eyes at quotes like “If ever a woman was capable of owning my heart again, you are.”...pfffft.
OVERALL: Meh. I guess I read a bit too many suspence books to get amazed by the new ones...

Except, monsters did exist. They didn’t hide under the bed, though. They stormed through the f*cking door and stole away everything we loved.
