Perfect Sizzling, Steamy, Short Read to pick you up between long and intense books.



I really enjoyed this book. I have been reading quite a few longer books recently and this was just what I needed to cleanse my pallet so to speak. It was the perfect balance of story and sexiness to make it very hot but not smutty. It truly felt like a couple falling for each other, though very quickly and intensely. And in today’s world many couples do not wait until the third date or later before doing the deed, so it was very realistic.

The heroine J.J. runs her own editing company and is invited to her ex boyfriend’s ugly sweater Christmas Party. He dumped her six months ago after repeatedly telling her for that he wasn’t ready of marriage or children, and he is now engaged to someone else. She wants to show up and prove to him that she is just fine without him.

J.J. meets wealthy businessman Liam outside the Party and Liam is immediately attracted to her. They go to the party together and end up sharing an intense kiss, afterwards she gets anxious and runs out. Liam tries to find her and can’t. Though eventually he does and they begin a passionate relationship.

Of course their relationship is not without issues but I will not give away any spoilers since it is a short read. But to say that I thought the characters were developed well and I enjoyed the story, especially the passion between the two main characters. It was scorching hot and Liam was awesome. He was romantic, tender and gallant as well as just a bit dominant. The end of the book had a preview for the next book, “Dipped in Gold” about J.J.’s roommate Clara and the guy she met at the dance club. That sounds terrific as well. I can’t wait.
